Channel 9 owned 6KY and they shared a complex for many years. 6KY was then sold to AWA and moved to Adelaide Terrace in the City in about 1985/86 before moving to Osborne Park and then finally Rokeby Rd, Subiaco when they merged with PMFM in 1993-94.

The roof of the studio building that KY occupied at STW still has the signwriting on it.

The Survey 4 results for all metropolitan markets are now released.

On a historical day for Perth radio Mix 94.5 have lost the #1 position after 100 surveys: 96FM are Perths new #1 radio station.

A pretty momentus occasion for Perth radio.

This is a good thing for Mix94.5. It will show them they'll really have to re-think their current strategy and become more competitive once again.

... I predict a comeback next survey ...

About time.
Such a tired sounding station, especially Breakfast and Drive which both need massive overhauls as they've practically been the same for 15yrs and 5yrs respectively. Not to mention the very repetitive music mix, the endless countdowns (though that didn't affect 96 this survey) and generally tired sound the station has.

Bring on the change! :)

I agree. The Bunch needs revitalizing IMO.

Blackers moving must have made an impact.

Interesting that the big couch were the only slot the mix went down & only lost .04%
Do they need to widen the music mix
Is it the personnel that is letting mix down or the music ?

Even if its just for one survey they needed the shock anyway to remind them that their current format can't last forever, to get the creative juices flowing, etc.

Noticed that! Was weird tuning in and hearing the voices of JB and Gary Lyon!

This will obviously be a special thing, but will probably happen again for West Coast tomorrow.

Interesting to see they could take the MMM Football broadcasts if they really wanted to regardless of the city by city "rights". Good idea of them to do it for the finals.

According to Jock's Journal, Andy Sichter, who is currently the Network MD (Music Director) for SCA's Localworks Regional Network, will take over as Mix 94.5's MD from 26th October.
