I am so glad to see the new series this friday night, I havn't bought the DVD which oddly is out already, so I am eager to see what happened after the clifhanger in the last epiode of series 4...
Is anybody else a fan?
(ps- i searched but couldn't find an existing thread for this show. although i could swear there was one...)

Not really the "new series" - Australia is well behind Britain, which is heading into Series 7.

Yes we are behind, but with some shows it is worth the waite, as it will be with spooks.

The actor who played Ruth went off to have a baby and that's why she disappeared quick-smart. Nobody ever comes back, so don't expect Ruth to pop up in a blonde wig, though I'm sure Harry would now appreciate that. The con-artist series Hustle is more forgiving. I stumbled over its website recently and noted that gang leader Mickey Bricks (Adrian Lester) took off in Series 4, ostensibly to do a long con selling the Sydney Harbour Bridge (!) But he comes back for Series 5, although we lose Marc Warren and Jaime Murray. Now if ABC would only run the bloody things...

I wouldnt have said that Ruth's departure was any different to the others (with the possible exception of Tom). I understand a departing character from S6 reappears in S7 though...
The spooks spinoff airs on BBC later this year too

Is Rupert Penry-Jones still in it? Spooks went downhill when he arrived, then it just became your average attempt at ripping off 24, but this time with British arrogance (I'm not sure which is worse, British or American's that are so far up themselves they can see Iraq).
