Would probably be handy in future site moves to give people in the "site getting moved" message the new IP address, so we could connect directly to the site without needing DNS, whilst waiting for ISPs to update their DNS records.

We are on a shared server, that would have offered no benefit.

True, we could have given the IP address and offered people a chance to update their hosts file, but I'd dare so most of our users wouldn't be well versed in this practice and it can only lead to further difficulty if they do it incorrectly.

Slowest of them all here.
I got it back just about 8pm here.
Is the site really slow for anyone else?

Unless I use our home internet (been shaped, but goes back to normal tomorrow) and not my Three modem, no it's not slow.

Agreed, it was fast last night (about 2am) when not too many people were logged on
but now - with more people logged on - it's taking 2 to 3 seconds for the "click" to do its ""trick" mellow.gif

We appreciate your concerns, we've requested that it be looked into.

In any case, you'd be hard pressed to find people who could match the speeds we used to get... those guys were good. wink.gif

Throw me on that list also, slow here. Quite slow on my connection(speed test: 33150 / 1125).

The site was really slow last night, but I am finding it fine again now.
However, loading the reply pages and submiting the reply is realy slow. Other than that its fine!
