Do we know for sure it'll be delayed? I suspect it might be technically impossible for them to show it live, since ABC2 doesn't vary by state.

The Show will run 6a-10a. Not 9a.

I presume Jim Middelton will fill in for Barrie on Insiders?

Maybe Barrie will do 6 day weeks. I mean that's not unheard of..

I doubt he would work a 6 day week. He is on air from 6-10 5 days a week plus an hour or so either side of that for prep and make-up etc.
Remember he also has offsiders to do on Sundays.

He could have one day a week off of Breakfast...

Has there been any promos for Breakfast on ABC1/2 yet?

MelbourneTV said in the ABC2 thread that they're apparently putting it off till November and the US elections.

They just need to get the show going!
I wouldn't be surprised if the bulletin got cancelled before then.

They might be having some problems with the technical aspects of the show - installing the cameras in studios around the country namely.

Wouldn't they only need to set up a camera on a tripod and feed it to Ultimo Southbank?
If that's the case it should take them an afternoon to set up not a matter of months.

If eyewitness accounts are anything to go by, along with the fact that they haven't figured out how to upload state bulletins to iView, then it's not that simple.

Oh yeah, and Ultimo might be of limited use since the show is being made at Southbank silly.gif

If they do use the Insiders set I sincerely hope they sort out the background photo with a projection of some sort.

Well the camera has to get to the station then the tripod or vise versa then set up a way to feed then teach everyone how to use it.

I hope they do use the Insiders set and not some orange/sun-burst key like the Australia Network bulletins.
If they somehow combined the BBC Breakfast and Insiders set it would be great. Use the current lounge for interviews and set up a simple projection and desk for the rest of the program.

I always found the way that Barrie introduces Insiders standing up quite good..they could open the program there and then move to the interview area off on the side to present most of the show. Then interviews and discussion, like you said, in the lounge area.

The show is introduced from the standing area with the plasma screen. It'd also be good for live crosses and introducing interviews in the various radio studios. They could even have a seperate news presenter 'in the newsroom' like they do on Sunday mornings:

The background photo they use looks marginally less terrible from this angle. If they moved the chairs and changed the camera angles a bit it could make a great area for just the two presenters - a table off to the side, or if they felt the need a proper desk of sorts (although still in keeping with the rest of the set - preferably glass and unobtrusive.

There probably wouldn't even be a need for a single-presenter shot.

Then interviews and discussion segments from the big lounge area:

More shots of the set etc at http://www.tvnewsroo...php?id=insiders

That set is perfect (though i prefered it when it was colours and not the hades of brown but that got a bit dated).
A desk would probably be more suitable though.
Also will it just be Barrie and Virgina or will their be a news reader and weather presenter too?

I'd say probably just the two - maybe a newsreader, but highly unlikely that there will be a weather presenter.
Perhaps Mignon Stewart will do the news, but there's been no announcement.
