Sydney's Channel 31 is still going (I think), but a new company's going to take over the frequency, Television Sydney (TVS).
Yeah I remember a mention of Ch31 going under on these forums a few months ago, hence that's why I thought it was gone. Any idea if they will broadcasti in digital? If they don't I won't be able to watch it as I don't watch any analog anymore.

Unless the CBAA fund community broadcasters to make the switch, it won't be happening befor 2008.

My TV doesn't pick up analog because of the poor cabeling in my house but the digital single is fine.

Nice to see that my student union fees are being put to good use...
I'll bet that it'll be broadcast in a way that my shitty indoor aerial can't pick it up...yet some bozo living near the uni will pick it up nicely...

I bet you are right.
The first "broadcast" (read: stick the tape in the machine) of Chuck TV (or CTV, according to signs I've read) is this Wednesday at 11am....I'd go, but I have classes during that time (including one that was moved by a prick of a lecturer without our knowing)...oh well...c'est la vie.

The Australian Broadcasting Authority has decided to grant Television Sydney Limited (TVS) a six month extension of time to commence its service. TVS was allocated a licence to provide a community television service for Sydney in March 2004.
The ABA’s decision follows a request from TVS to extend the period in which it is required to commence broadcasting in order to arrange delivery and installation of equipment.
TVS recently sought and received ABA approval to use a more powerful transmitter than was originally determined in the Sydney licence area plan. TVS has advised the ABA that it is seeking to obtain a 20 kW transmitter, an initiative that will significantly increase the number of Sydney households that can receive the channel.
The ABA considers that this extension will assist TVS in its endeavours to provide a high quality and wide coverage community television service in Sydney.
Conditions applicable under the Broadcasting Services Act require a licensee to commence broadcasting services within a year of being allocated a licence or within such longer period as is notified in writing by the ABA.
TVS now has until 23 October 2005 within which to commence broadcasting.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority has decided to grant Television Sydney Limited (TVS) a four week extension of time to commence broadcasting its service. TVS now has until 21 November 2005 within which to commence broadcasting.
ACMA’s decision was made following a request from TVS for a short extension to the period in which it is required to commence broadcasting, to enable it sufficient time to obtain the supply and commissioning of a 20 kilowatt transmission system at Gore Hill.
ACMA considers that by granting this extension, TVS will be able to provide a high quality and wide coverage community television service in Sydney.
TVS was allocated a licence to provide a community television service for Sydney in March 2004. The decision was subject to a Federal Court appeal. The Federal Court upheld the decision on 23 April 2004.
Conditions applicable under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 require a licensee to commence broadcasting services within a year of being allocated a licence or within such longer period as is notified in writing by ACMA. On 14 April 2005, TVS was granted an extension of six months to commence its service on 23 October 2005.

When why don't they counted in the ratings? 200,000 people watching channel 31 is a bit far fetched.

or was it weekly? Then again CTS (Community Television Sydney), the previous Ch31 holder would do anything to look good.
