Appearance is probably the best looking of all bulletins and content isn't brilliant but it isn't bad - it gives you all the relevant details, in my opinion.

That is in the East Coast though - appearance in Adelaide is OK and is ghastly in the west.

Hopefully Viz will be installed soon.

East Coast Graphics look Good.

Perth Graphics are horrible. They need Virtz(sp?)

Jaynie Seal's appearance is probably Nine News Sydney's best asset.

whilst a totally sexist comment I still would have to agree.

It's just so much better than looking at Tim Bailey for some reason... laugh.gif

I noticed an article in Mediaweek that had the news directors of Seven, Nine and Ten hitting back at criticisms from Ray Martin at the Andrew Olle Media Lecture last week. In that article, John Westacott was going through the news production Nine does, and said that the digital news production suite would be up and running "from this week".

Perhaps thats why I saw a few countdown slides on NBN News last night, complete with the old "Nine in a box" logo.

What exactly will this digital news production suite do that doesn't already happen?

Perhaps it will remove the need for a technical person to sit in the control room and toggle the supers, among other things? I was surprised to find out that still happens in one news studio in particular.

I see. So that would make things somewhat more straightforward to manage?

For some reason I thought TV stations would have already used a system like that. Nowadays tapes feel incredibly cumbersome!

GTV still use tapes... I suppose that will soon be eliminated?

It looks nice tjkirk, but it would look even better if it was a flat desk - not something the presenters are partly behind.

Probably the best looking key and desk out of Nine News.

Yes I agree, the raised top makes the desk look really tall! But apart from that, I quite like the changes.

Oh hands down Nine Brisbane have got it most right of all the Nine stations - best backdrop of them all, good looking desk... which actually gives a good sense of 'physical set' to the piece - which is good.

... Mind you i cant help but think of that desk in the same way i think of Marge's Chanel suit in The Simpsons - why it has gone through quite a few touch ups it has!
