I must say that as a newsreader, Belinda Heggen is quite an up and coming talent and in my eyes she is more of a comfortable reader than Kath Robinson. Also as mentioned in the other Ten News thread, Helen Kapalos should be given a national role somehow..

Hi everyone - i'm new here! Someone mentioned in the other thread that they like Frank Coletta - gotta say I'm a fan too and wish they'd give him some more air time!! Nice to see someone professional AND with personality.

Frank Coletta is good - the last time I was in Sydney he spent the bulletin in the traffic helicopter, which was a bit of a waste of his talents.

Couldn't agree with you more....they seem to hire what look like teenagers sometimes to do stories and waste good talent....like the wasted air time on Tim Bailey, sorry but do not like him doing weather AT ALL.

Personally, I don't think Kapalos has the voice suitable for breakfast/morning television.

What's the difference between a 'morning' and 'evening' voice?

A morning voice is a nice, soothing and relaxing voice which you wouldn't mind hearing first thing of a morning. An evening voice is one which delivers the news - but obviously shouldn't be too irritating.

Melissa Doyle has the right sort of voice for a breakfast program, whereas Helen Kapalos does not.

Yeh I think a certain amount of "perkiness" is needed, I just hate when they get a little too excited laugh.gif

Helen Kapalos is fantastic. Great to look at.....great newsreader....the best hair on a female newsreader and works well with someone. Mal and Helen
work fantastically together on air......great rapport....more than can be said for the former newsreader at Ten Jennifer Hansen. There was nothing warm about her.....Ten made the right choice in shafting Hansen for Kapalos
