Tim Webster presented the final Late News. Of interest, at the end he said this is the final Late News 'for now'. A hint that one day it could return?

Did anyone see the end of Sydney's News last night? What was sad about Deb's departure. I forgot to watch it.

Yes, I hadn't planned on posting the video yet because of the sound problems. Anyway, the sound is now fixed and video is available here:

Sports Tonight also used Celine Dion, My Heart Will Go On, as their final piece of audio coming back from commercial break last night with Rob saying "apologies for that". A subtle jibe at management, I suppose.

So whats the go tonight with the news? Late news from Sydney across the board or ice age?

What might have been a good idea is if they did a 60min news after the GF with the new team, good way to introduce the new format to a large amount of viewers that is a once off.

George Donikian will be presenting the 8:30 news in Melbourne... (not sure if that will go to the other AFL states or not).
Be good if someone could capture it as its his final bulletin.

I'd daresay it will be local in Adelaide and Perth for the last time considering the timing of the bulletins (6 and 5:30 respectively).
Have no idea how its cheaper for them to do a live from Sydney bulletin for the Perth market (as it was before this year anyway) considering the high ratings (generally higher then any other city) for the weekend news at five from Perth. Would have just kept the single half hour 5pm bulletin for the Perth market and got rid of the 6pm one.

Yes Local Weekend News has been axed after today in all markets, with a 90 min national bulletin coming from Sydney tomorrow.

Lexy Hamilton-Smith presenting Queenslands news tonight after Ice Age 3. Also I do believe it would be good if someone capped George Donikian's bulletin, being his last and all

Suicidal....again.

They have over 2,000,000 people watching the AFL, what a good way to show of your new weekend team immedatelay after. Its the only chance they would have all year at beating 9 and 7 in the news

Why, TEN, Why!

It's sad when they say that they are shifting their focus on news, and then something like this happens

Are all of tonights final local weekend bulletins one hour?
Have any of the other bulletins started a "Saturday Soapbox" thing where they get Facebook/Twitter opinions as well as voxpops on one issue weekly? seems very odd for them to be launching something like this when they're about to go national again.

Just half an hour in Melbourne: 840pm-9:10pm.

George has been presenting updates since about 1pm.

Odd. Full (and I mean full, no filler whatsoever) hour in Perth.
No acknowledgment that it was their last bulletin.

Natarsha had a few stumbles in tonight's bulletin. Nothing said at the end regarding the changes either.

News at 6pm (straight after grand final) and 8:30 tonight in Adelaide.... I really dont get this 8:30 thing... no one will watch...

melbourne really should have done news straight after grand final too...

adelaide also appears to have tweaked its set lighting with the desk and background a lighter shade of blue than normal.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have new graphics tomorrow night either as the final nail in the coffin of the former managements news vision.
