Already read one of my FB friends' status update last night, complaining that she tuned in to watch SVU (so excited that it was actually on!), only to tune in half way through Glee.

So, yep, there's confirmation that people clearly have no clue what Ten's schedule is. They know what shows are on it, just not what times they're on.

Next week will only be worse...

Goodness me. Only the best drama series anywhere.

The Good Wife. I know now, but it just reflects what I wrote above ^^. IMO, TGW would be better on an older skewing night, such as leading in to or leading out of SVU.

Absolutely. In fact, it makes no sense that they're ever putting MC episodes together that run 40/45 mins or 70/75 mins anyway. Why can't they just edit shows as standard 30mins, 60mins, 90mins?

I wonder if the actual run-time of those episodes is any different from normal. Typically a one-hour show would have 42-45 minutes of content. Maybe, with a late start included, a 70-minute episode is the same.

ok so offsprings crazy timeslot seem to be a regular thing with it also airing at 8;15 PM on may 23 as well surely ten could stick a first look promo or something to air it at 8:30 to ensure it does not require any edits for air in a PG timeslot

This is just woeful. Surely they could have ordered 90min eps of Masterchef for every Wednesday. I can't stand these weird start times.

8:15 is the worst time ever, no matter what some are attempting to say about lead-in. I doubt the producers have somehow magically created two PG rated episodes in a row after two seasons of being mostly M rated.

It staggers me that Offspring could be considered PG material given the adult themes and language often used in the program. There must be some last minute editing going on to make it fit the classification.

Why doesn't Ten just run MasterChef to 8.00 instead of this 8.15 rubbish and then run something in the 8.00 half hour. There has to be something that can be played out in that timeslot.

They are morons. The Ten programmers have really demonstrated their ineptitude in 2012. I want them to succeed but they really like walking around with guns and shooting themselves in the foot.

Dumb, dumb, dumb! Surely this wasn't Ten's plan all along, an 8:15pm start for Offspring once Masterchef started? I can understand Ten wanting to have the Masterchef lead in, however why don't they just go back to their tried and true programming tactic of just extending the run time?

If that was possible I'm sure that's what they would have done.

Then they are just idiots for planning an episode with 75 minutes. Now people who aren't watching MasterChef won't bother tuning in at all.

I have to agree. I think 10 are stupid for these starting times. On Offspring's time this week I think it might have more to do with the fact that the Shire had to be removed last minute. But oh well. Might teach ten a lesson.

Better ways to fill the 15 minute gap than bringing forward the starting time of Offspring:
- Run a shortened Ten News bulletin/update
- Replay a Project interview segment (possibly MasterChef themed)
- Replay a Breakfast interview segment
- Replay/sneak peek a The Living Room segment
- Run a 15 minute PG-edited segment of "The Devil Wears Prada"

Or just order 15 minutes more/less of MasterChef.

A little planning would have meant this idiotic situation never arose..

I thought Modern Family was meant to be on tonight after MasterChef... a curious enough move in itself. But then I tune in and see Bondi Vet...

Seems Channel Ten has bought the dartboard that Nine had been using for random scheduling decisions...

The massive success of The Voice probably had something to do with taking out Modern Family. Seven have also made a few random scheduling decisions lately given they've lost a few weeks in a row and have been trying to claw back some viewers.

Confirmation that Ten's programming is random. Have Ten just given up on clawing back viewers?
