When you're launching a show it is too confusing to advertise 2 timeslots.

God, promoting Masterchef when it launched must have turned Ten's promotion department into total headcases...

Seriously what the hell is so confusing promoting it saying "airing 6:30 Sundays and 8 o'clock Mondays"? It's not exactly rocket science. Yeah they're not exactly memorable imeslots but hello, it's Channel Ten. They still can't keep a consistent schedule this year.

It's ridiculous that they need to screen it twice a week and just confusing for viewers at 6.30 one night and 8.00 another night. I watched it tonight but had no idea it was on again tomorrow. Epic fail

What are you talking about, 24 hours to promote a new timeslot is PLENTY of time to let viewers know!

Oh well...it doesnt matter because despite all the bloody promos for Last Man Standing, Ten have successfully launched another flop. It rated below 500k last night and it wont be long til its shunted off to Eleven.

Which is exactly why playing it on Monday with Masterchef as a lead-in could help it, even though it is opposite The Voice for 2 weeks. Very tough to launch a new show with a lead-in of 343,000 with Seven and Nine having 1.3 million lead-in to 6.30.

It's a bit early to be declaring it a flop. Even Big Bang Theory took a while to find an audience.

With barely 1 million viewer, I don't think Masterchef can ram through enough gullible people to turn sub 500k into something respectable.

Can we call New Girl a flop then?

TEN need to move the sitcoms, and put them on Weeknights at 8 instead. They're clearly not working there, but still have potential (well, New Girl does) - just look at Modern Family's recent figures on Tuesdays compared to its Sunday ones.

What's wrong with playing Last Man Standing twice a week? It's a sitcom. Easy to watch, light hearted and fun viewing. It's not a serialized drama that requires commitment.

Ten have 22 episodes of LMS so they plenty available to play twice a week,

so they'll be into running repeats of the show in as little as 3 months? Modern Family has suffered from having so many, and so frequent turnaround of re-runs in random timeslots but it's a good enough show that it's somehow weathered it but it was looking very dicey there for a while.

I didn't see LMS but does it have enough going for it to sustain the same treatment?

LMS premiered well in the US but steadily declined, only just scraping a renewal by the end, i dont think it has a chance to grow in Australia. when a show premieres on foxtel is seems it is too big of a handicap. has a show in that situation ever worked?

Even though it was opposite The Voice getting more than 2.2 million viewers, LMS increased on Sunday's figure by 138,000 in total people, 120,000 in 18-49 and 96,000 in 16-39. It also beat Seven in 16-39 and was very close to Seven in 18-49.

Despite its low total people numbers on Sunday, LMS still beat Seven (DWTS) in 18-49 and 16-39.

Perhaps that's why Ten should screen the comedies during the week rather than 6.30/7.00 Sundays.

Ten need to continue with the weeknight episodes to gain an audience. LMS isn't a terrible show; it's quite fun and easy to watch IMO.

New Big Bang Theory never rated this low on Nine. LMS is a flop, but because it's on Ten, it will get an extended run and rate 600k.

LMS should be replaced with Modern Family repeats.

Ten have to play something 6.30 Sunday! Doesn't matter what they put there it is going to struggle because of the lead-in. They can't just give up. What do you suggest they play 6.30pm Sunday?

Big Bang Theory was launched in December 2007 by Nine and got down to the low 600,000s before it was taken off. They almost gave up on the show until (I heard) Ten offered to buy it from them and they decided to give the show more time to find an audience.

The Sifon, not all shows are hits immediately. Taking off LMS after 2 episodes is a ridiculous suggestion and especially replacing it with more Modern Family repeats! The Block and The Voice will be finished in a few weeks...then we'll see how the show is performing.

I couldn't get into LMS during its Fox8 run, but maybe it's just not my kind of comedy. It definitely didn't have the "must watch" factor that Modern Family had from the very first episode.

The simplest solution to me would have been to move Sunday's Masterchef to 6:30, then leave the comedy block from 7:30-8:30. LMS would have replaced MF, and New Girl could be replaced with something else when that finishes up.

It would have made for a much more consistent swap over of shows by leaving reality at 6:30 and comedy at 7:30.

Other option would be to produce some new comedy. Why not try and being sketch shows back? Ten are trying to revitalize/try out other new genres. Some comedy would be nice rather than more dance shows, stage shows, reality shows etc etc.

Comedy requires paying for good writers, performers, set designers etc.

You have to spend money to make money.

Seriously, any local content will cost the network a little bit of extra cash in licensing fees. But considering the tripe Ten has been commissioning lately, it'd be nice to see at least one quality production in the lot.

The Office (UK) originally aired on Foxtel on UKTV before airing on the ABC a year after.

Has LMS already been bumped to 6:30pm Sunday from its original premiere slot?
