The Glee Project has been dropped from Ten's schedule after the main channel came fifth last Saturday. It will move back to Eleven and will air at 7.30pm Fridays from July 13 (this week), replacing Glee repeats.
The Sound of Music will now be shown at 6.30pm this Saturday.
The schedule for Saturday July 21 (source: throng) will be:
6.00 The Simpsons (repeat)
6.30 Movie – Ice Age (repeat)
8.10 Modern Family (repeat)
8.40 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (repeat)
11.40 The Good Wife (repeat)

Ice Age and Ice Age 2 were only shown a few months ago and had dismal ratings from memory.

I don't think anyone expected The Glee Project to rate. Going to a better home.

Wednesday July 25th

7pm MasterChef (Finale)

I really hoped this wasn't true. We are being denied 2.5 weeks that, all indications are, they originally intended to include. Given the number of contestants still remaining I don't know how they can do it without it looking like a very unnatural last couple of weeks. They are going to ruin the whole season.

Triton, you have a good point. The first nine weeks of MasterChef (up to and including the Italian trip) were planned well ahead and were filmed well in advance. Then The Voice premiered just as the top ten contestants were being decided in the MC kitchen, so Ten panicked and pushed back the season premiere. In order for the season to finish before the Olympics they had to shorten the production schedule, hence the rushed elimination in the next two weeks (I think the final three were decided by late June).
Why not continue the discussion at the MasterChef thread?

So MasterChef and AGT Finale will go head-to-head. MasterChef will probably win. It seems to be getting the momentum now from Italy Week.

Interesting. That suggests that it was really intended to start earlier than normal (normal being late April/early May), so it would end before the Olympics. Also, that it wasn't poorer than expected ratings that led to its being shortened (as that article in The Age said).

Why not continue the discussion at the MasterChef thread?

I would do that, but I haven't seen any Italy episodes yet (not till Sunday), so I have to avoid spoilers.

Anyone heard any murmurs about what Ten have planned for 7pm once Masterchef/All Stars wraps up?
I'm so hoping they do not resort to sitcom rpts - that will be terrible.

I'd be extending The Project for another 30 minutes.

If I were them I would move The Project back to 6.30-7.30 and trial the Late News at 6pm (different name of course).

Wouldn't be surprised to see them go with Modern Family repeats.

That would surely be handing the audience to
big brother and back to home and away. It'd hit 600 max.
At least the project at 7pm would have a chance of 700-900k

Agree - I think a lot of their one hour reality shows will start at 7pm. It will be interesting to see how long each Big Brother 7pm show is. I think there will be a few 1 hours there too - that will be aimed at Seven's 7.30 programming.

Anyone else noticed that Letterman aired every night at 1am this week? Glades aired at 11.30 and Ally McBeal at 12.30. Why has it been shafted that late for a US cable show and a 90's rerun? Glades should be on Eleven, as could Ally McBeal in daytime.

Does anyone know what's happening with NCIS? There's 4 episodes to go in the current season and Ten are inexplicably showing repeats again, for no apparent reason. Ten are treating NCIS very shabbily this year, showing for a month or two, taking it off, bringing it back on for two episodes, only to go into repeats again. I mean where's the logic? It's only 4 episodes, freaking air them!!!

Does anyone know if The Shire is getting an encore on Ten or Eleven this week?
