Hi Guys,

I was just wondering, (this may sound silly) when a journalist files an "exclusive report" or any other report for the first time, what then happens with future reports??

Does that journalist then have the first right to follow up the story, and it is "their" story?? OR can another journalist in the same network take it from them and they have no say??

Technically the Chief of Staff or Editor would have the right to assign whoever they chose to any story.
But in practice, it would be highly unusual for the journalist who broke the exclusive not to be assigned to the follow.

I'm trying to find an archive of newspaper articles for Australian news publications for the last year or so on the internet.

Specifically, I'm looking for an article in the Daily Telegraph from 3/11/04. Anyone have any idea where I could find an internet archive, preferably for free, that would contain that publication?

I don't know about the internet, newscorp charge for their articles and so do fairfax, however all library;s keep newspapers archived. Just go to your local or state library.

You might try a "news" search on google.Try and remember a few words that encapsulate the subject and google will give you a list of articles. The ones from your target paper will be easy to spot

I have another question that will require an answer from a manager or an administrator:

Is it possible for us to change our usernames?

Tanaya was originally emmabar
and SydneySider was originally SydneyTV, so how do we change it?

Is there a certain criteria we have to meet, or any conditions?

Well, as long as the username you're proposing isn't "Mr Q Sucks!", then I don't imagine there would be any problems.

This is on the bottom of the board index, what does it mean? I've been wondering about it for awhile now.
