'Every week day from July 20, at 7pm the day’s news will be dissected, digested and re-constituted by some of Australia’s funniest and smartest.'

I do like the above line from the website..who in that 5 person line up is known for being particularly intelligent?

I like all the presenters and the concept sounds great for that timeslot. I hope it succeeds.

I don't really like the name of the show though. Surely they could have come up with a better title than that: The Buzz, Project X, Mass Media.
That's without even trying. Maybe they can run a competition?

It would only be rated G though.

I believe PG is allowed at 6pm on Sundays

It's going to be a quick program with 5 stars only going for 30mins. I think they need to get rid of Simpsons. Extend news or move neighbours to 6pm and make it an hour.

Has the year round commitment been confirmed? I'm sure if it only rates 600-800k it wont be a year round commitment. They need to start generating some buzz about it like they did MC.

Yep Grant Blackley in the Herald Sun stated that this was a 52 week (significant) commitment, and also Dave Hughes said that network TEN execs have stated that the show will be back next year even if it is a slow burner. Someone posted the article earlier in TEN's early evening woes.

Yes I do get its a 52 week committment but surely ten wouldn't continue with it if it fell to the slums of taken out or Yasmins getting married.

great idea for show
cast works well for younger audiences

but, as much as i love this chick, ruby rose looks pointless
i mean pickering and hughes will entertain
mathieson alright, bickmore good as ever
but ruby seems to be picked due to her personality status
she seems average, have to wait and see

I quite like Ruby Rose from what I've seen of her. But up to 2 months ago I didn't even know who she was. Obviously ten think she is something - they obviously wanted her on rove a few months back so people would have a general idea to who she was. I'm not sure why they didn't get Ryan Shelton, he is an absolute genious.

Ryan does 4-6pm radio on Nova. Probably why. One thing, James does Sydney radio at night - if this is done in Melbourne will he be via satellite?

shows like this take a while to find their feet, so its good ten are going to give it a decent chance...its sounds quite similar to BBC1 in the UK's 'the One show', when it started a few years back in its 7pm slot, ITV1 soap "Emmerdale" was more than doubling its audience, now, a few years on and with the show bedded in, it comes to within a million or so viewers of Emmerdale, and when your talking audiences of 5-8 million thats not to bad a result

if this works and is going to be on all year round, ill be interested to see what they do with Loser and Masterchef next year

Hmm.. this show could be pre-recorded in the afternoon (ie- 5pm or 5.30pm) freeing up the presenters during the night for their radio and/or other committments. If it's being taped at the Como Centre, I'd imagine they'd be using the '9am with David and Kim' studio. News is done in another studio.

James could do his show from the Nova studios in Melbourne and sattelite his radio show to Sydney. Depends if he is able/wants to move to Melbourne.

Ah ok. Noticed James is on-air at 7pm-10pm on Nova Sydney... I know that Ten and Nova Sydney are right next to each other in Pyrmont (beats any commuting), so I guess he'll be missing part of his radio show each evening??
