Seven has confirmed there will be a New Zealand team in season 3, which is currently being filmed.

Seven have already started promoting the 2012 season. Seems extremely early.

with an earlier easter next year the format will have to change. i'd say go back to ten teams like the first season instead of the 12 teams of season 2. but instead of doubling up on 5 states they can include TAS, ACT, NT and NZ to make 9 then some kind of wildcard for the last spot, or some island terriory team... or even send them to antarctica.

I have a strong feeling that this will not do as well as it did this year. I just think that if viewers were still interested in cooking, more of them would be watching Junior MasterChef.

i think if there is a cooking show apocalypse MKR would be the most likely to survive. its a more traditional reality format that has its backbone in bitching and the competition rather than the cooking and a 'journey'.

All I said is that it won't do as well as this year. It will still rate over a million for sure.

I hope Seven move this back to just 2 nights a week; I got extremely tired from 3 nights of it, it just felt the same, I really enjoyed Season 1 and Season 2 just felt too big and I grew bored of it. Monday/Tuesday would work well for the show; though I doubt Seven will move it back to that format :(

Unless they tweak the format and make the third night actually important, or have some purpose, you're right, it needs to go back to Monday and Tuesday.

MKR will have to be cut back to 2 nights a week anyway, with Better Homes & Gardens to air on Thursday nights, it and MKR will have three of the six available 7.30pm timeslots of the week with movies on Saturdays. Plus next year it will have to face the new season of The Block.

I don't think The Block will do that much damage to MKR, especially since they're in different timeslots.

Am I missing something or is the Maths wrong here? it hasn't been confirmed that BH&G will move to Thurs from Feb OR if it ever will in Syd & Bris. MKR will probably be almost over by the time AFL starts remembering there is no NAB cup next year.

That said, I think 2 eps, atleast after the home visits, would be better than 3.

Remember earlier this year, one hour episodes of The Block beat MasterChef when they clashed between 7.30pm and 8pm on Mondays and Thursdays. If Nine repeats the dose and have one hour episodes of The Block on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7pm in 2012, don't be surprised if they beat MKR when the two go head to head after 7.30pm.

That's IF The Block is still the ratings hit it was this year.

I think what makes My Kitchen Rules stand out from the rest is the dynamics of the teams. It's not all feel good lovey dovey stuff which I think Masterchef has smothered the audience with to the point of exhaustion.

Some funny promos running at the moment featuring the NZ team.

Seems odd that Seven are using the song "You Make Me Feel" by Cobra Starship on one of the promos for MKR that Nine are also using for all their 2012 promos.

Haven't a number of them already been revealed in the promos including this one?
