Both teams created great dishes tonight and both deserved to win. In the end it was the duck and the dessert that cost Jake and Elle valuable points.

I think this is the best season of MKR so far but it was stretched to compete against The Voice.

I agree both teams had great dishes in each course. But l was very happy for Dan & Steph winning.

The standard of cooking seems to increase remarkably for the final every year.

I think its rather stupid recording multiple winner announcements the reactions are always going to poor. A more sensible way of doing it would be to pre-record up to the announcement and then do the announcement live. It would be all of a minute to do live, its guaranteed not to be leaked and you would get a much better reaction.

Agree. It just seemed fake. Jake and Elle standing there smiling and laughing was so put on for a fake recording. I know that Masterchef used to film the result on the day that the episode went to air which makes more sense.

Very happy with last nights winners. It was extremely close but in the end Dan and Steph took the crown. I think this has been the best series of MKR to date. I wonder how Seven will top it in 2014. I said the same thing last year and they delivered so lets see how we go.

This show always has a big benefit from the Australian Open lead in. Good casting and it will work again, but it will be hard to top a team like Ashlee and Sophia. I also think that viewers definitely love the home cooking element and they should re-introduce that at some point later in the series (e.g. at the Top 6 pr Top 4 stage they re-vist the reamining contestants homes again... maybe with the guest judges as guests instead of the contestants to score?).

I can't work out how the judging is done for the unused ending. Do they give the losing team fake higher scores? Or are the teams separated and given their real scores and told not to tell anyone? I agree it would be better to record the ending on the same day or do it live. A big stuff-up on live TV would be embarrassing but everyone would still talk about the show and it wouldn't hurt the ratings because the show is over. They'd also earn respect for being bold enough to do it.

The judges don't know who cooked what so maybe when they are giving the scores for either Team 1 or Team 2 they still don't know who cooked what. Perhaps the score reveal is done separately so the teams don't know which is their score. Dan & Steph were on radio this morning and said they were watching along with the rest of Australia to see who won and realised they had won when they saw the lower scores were for Jake & Elle because they they knew the other scores were higher so that meant they won.

I remember when we first saw promo's before the series started and we generally scoffed at Jake's "we know it all" comment.

They may not know it all, but for two so young, their knowledge was extraordinary.

Was this a competition with a winners prize only?  I reckon that the second place getters deserved something, say $50,000 for all the entertainment they provided.

Jake and his sister are very talented ,in last night's episode he was deboning quails and his mother said l didn't teach you that.He joked back l saw it on YouTube.Jake and Elle were the youngest team ever on the show ?

Jake looked to be villain-most-likely in the promos and I didn't like him at all, but he turned out to be a good guy. I wanted he and Elle to win last night.

J Bar, then that means that something is not as it seems when they switch the shot between judges and team(s) during the scoring. I thought teams even react to individual scores sometimes (but maybe not last night).

You'd think they'd at least offer something for 2nd place considering the money 7 must of got from all of this... but I think the fact they got to the grand final is a reward. If they want to take on professional ventures, their achievement would be enough to get them a job.

Even for blind tasting and scoring, the judges would be used to the teams' cooking styles by the time of the final, and once the sausage emerged, it wouldn't have taken too much intuition from the judges to determine which team was number one and which team was number two.

I tuned out of the series earlier on because I couldn't take all the bitchiness, but it's nice to know that it wasn't one of the nasty teams that won.

Also, blind tastings only came in this year, probably because there was criticism last year that Leigh & Jennifer won after messing up the tempered white chocolate for their dessert (not that I agree). I don't think this was the first year they recorded two endings.
