It will be the same sort of coverage as last year, cherry picking the best games each night, no?

Seven will show the Stradbroke Day races from Brisbane's Eagle Farm tomorrow (June 9), the final day of Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival. The races to be covered include Patinack Farm T.J. Smith (Group 1), Channel Seven Queensland Derby (Group 1) and AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (Group 1). Bruce McAvaney will fly from Melbourne to Brisbane to host the telecast, alongside Pat Welsh, Bart Sinclair, Wayne Wilson, Kimberley Busteed and Sofie Formica. The coverage will be shown from 2pm to 4pm AEST on Seven in NSW and QLD and 7TWO in other states.
(According to Kimberley's website, her grandfather was a renowned horse trainer in Queensland.)

Why are the races on 7TWO in Melbourne and Adelaide? There is no Saturday Afternoon footy tomorrow (except for the Dockers game shown only in Perth).

The old 7 Sport watermark was used in the Stradbroke Handicap telecast today.
New Wimbledon promo aired on Seven tonight, labelling Bernard Tomic as "our new hope for 2012". It also confirms coverage on Seven and 7TWO.

Not sure why the race isn't on the main channel in Sydney or Brisbane.

Melbourne 11pm Live on Channel 7
Adelaide 10.30pm Live on Channel 7
Sydney 11pm Live on 7mate
Brisbane 11pm Live on 7mate

Perhaps they are using the live AFL lead in for the coverage as it already has a sports audience tuning in.

@MediaweekAUS Sat TV: Royal Ascot #BlackCaviar 450k (Syd 38k Mel 217k Bri 30k Ade 77k Per 88k) 7 + 7mate

Good result for Seven's late night screening, given huge interest on Black Caviar here.

It seems Sydney and Brisbane hate Black Caviar.

Why?

That explains it. People simply won't watch on multichannels. It should've been on the main channel. Really dumb scheduling.

It was on 7mate in Sydney and Brisbane, leading out from an AFL game.

All the more mind boggling. Leading out from AFL that nobody in Sydney or Brisbane watches.

They've lost at least 300k viewers for nothing.

TV Tonight reporting a peak figure of 920,000 on 7/7mate for the race.... at the time that peak would have been recorded that is incredible. The fact that more people watched the other races they showed with little care factor for them is more impressive.

Actually the preceding race did feature the top 2 from last year's Melbourne Cup (Dunaden, Red Cardeaux), and may be worth revisiting in October/November.

When do the Olympic rights come up again? I'm pretty sure 7 are keen to have them back in their schedule again!!!
