That's because almost every WIN News bulletin is pre-recorded. I guess RTQ went live considering the threat to Rockhampton - good to see them do thatThat is actually unheard of for WIN News...

I didn't realise the even had the capacity to do such a thing. I've seen phone crosses but nothing like that. That's because almost every WIN News bulletin is pre-recorded. I guess RTQ went live considering the threat to Rockhampton - good to see them do that
EDIT: And that's a delightfully wooden interview.

Yep, that's definitely pre-recorded. WIN would've sanctimoniously put a 'Live' super up if it was genuinely live. That's either pre-recorded or fake... I'd say the latter. There's no delay whatsoever.

Just be grateful they even have proper bulletins.
True that... I don't know what I'd do without a proper local news service. How expensive is OB technology though?

WIN Rockhampton could possibly have provided a live cross on last nights bulletin through QTQ who provided a live cross through their satellite equipment last night. The problem would have been with time as QTQ did their cross live cross at 6pm. The WIN Rockhampton bulletin is normally pre-recorded (Townsville is presented live) however, they can swap if a major story happens in Central QLD.
In this instance, the "cross" was pre-recorded. A "Live" super would have appeared on screen had it of been live. Most regional stations do not invest in live OB facilities because of the cost involved. I think we all need to appreciate how much it costs for a news bulletin to be produced each night. WIN is the only regional network who are deadly serious about producing local TV news in this country.

That's very true. The other networks get away with their noodle updates presented from Canberra or somewhere else, but WIN have local reporters in each area, and do present the nightly bulletin (even if it is pre-recorded elsewhere). They are by far the most committed to local regional newsIn this instance, the "cross" was pre-recorded. A "Live" super would have appeared on screen had it of been live. I agree, and while it's nice to poke fun (they seem to be the Illawarra Mercury of Media Spy), WIN is to be commended for persisting with local news where others have turfed it.That's very true. Too right. They make some metro bulletins look very amateur.WIN is the only regional network who are deadly serious about producing local TV news in this country.

WIN Canberra's been on the prowl - it looks like they've nabbed Ashlea Brown from Prime Wagga to replace Amanda Powell.
Where'd you hear that?
