Graphically that looks really quite nice. I'd just prefer if they used the actual WIN News fonts for the logo, and maybe make the text color a little less gloomy (dark grey on dark blue). Otherwise it's really good - the background is tops!

Nine News, not "National News" as they like to put in the EPG?

Its silly that they dont Nine News in the Epg. They use the 9News logo on there website and on Anzac day they have 'National News Special' in the Epg yet say 'Nine News' in the description .

I think WIN is trying to pretend that they are responsible for the production of everything on the Channel, not saying that they are a 9 affiliate. They often say things like "Win's Wide World of Sports team", as an example.

And posting the same information to Facebook:

Compare the number of likes of the two photos. Speaks for itself really.

If I was going to 'like' one, I know which one it would be: NOT Win.

Sun sets on weatherman's career

THE sun is about to set on the career of arguably one of Rockhampton's most recognisable television personalities, Peter Byrne.

The popular WIN News weather presenter will make his last broadcast on Friday night.

In typical Peter style, WIN viewers were the first to know of his decision as he made his announcement on Monday night.

Jack Berketa (Nine News Adelaide reporter and former WIN Mt Gambier reporter and sports presenter) read WIN News in SA tonight.

First time I'm aware of that a NWS 9 reporter has filled in since the news moved to Adelaide over 18 months ago. Normally they fly someone in from Mount Gambier to fill in.

Caught this comment on the Weatherzone forums that Peter Byrne's replacement will be ex-Weather Channel presenter Hannah McEwan. Not sure on the truth of the rumour, but her Twitter account states she has recently moved to the Sunshine Coast (where some of the WIN QLD bulletins have now centralised to) so it may very well be the case.

Very good I think. A bit wasted on WIN, she could be used on other WIN bulletins I suppose (put her on the NSW, VIC, TAS & SA editions.)

I prefer newsreader-read weather over someone reading the ACT's forecast from interstate. The current arrangement works (and rates well).

WIN has revived its late-night sports update. It tonight used the same sponsor billboard that Nine News does for its updates.

Does Amy Duggan present sport on the late bulletin, or does Michaela do news, sport and weather?

Yeah, I've had confirmation from within WIN that Hannah McEwen will be presenting the WIN News Weather from the Sunshine Coast starting this upcoming Monday (21st May).

WIN News has had shocking timing issues here lately, every night for the last week or more, Kathryn shows what will be coming up after the break, then we have a black screen for 10 to 15 seconds, then the ads start. Then once the ad break ends the bulletin returns mid-sentence or sometimes even after the next story has begun.

Michaela Gray presents all segments of the Late Edition. At the beginning of the 2012 ratings season, they had Amy presenting sport, but this ceased after a week or so.

Been seeing this promo on quite often lately

Interesting shot on the (real) Win News part of the promo, they never use that shot on air.

That backdrop on the WIN bulletin ad looks so nice! They should use it. Perhaps not have the wood across the middle, but definately have the plasma as an OTS of city scape.

Geoff's looking old in that shot too, much older than his 44 year old wife!

That background has featured in a few WIN promos around the country, it's one of two different keys I've never seen used on the actual bulletins before though. Quiet a shame we don't see anything other than the sea of blue that currently features.
