On the night news updates Monday - Wednesday, the end super said "WIN News Late Edition", but did not specify a time. The late news is currently not on due to the Olympics. Tonight the super appeared, but was blank.

Saw this promo for the first time this morning, with all presenters from Illawarra/Wollongong. Mentions "When news happens close to home, WIN Local News will keep you informed."

Endboard looks great, with the new graphic. They should use it at the end of news updates, rather than the ugly blue "WIN News Hour" one. For example:

Canberra has a slightly different version of the new promo.

I saw that one for Illawarra too just before, but I wasn't able to record it in time.

They're really good promos. Glad to see them taking pride in the branding.

Anyone got one from a market where they compete with Prime/Seven? You'd think they'd give those a bit of a different tone. Canberra's one looks a bit nicer than Wollongong.

Here's the "Need to Know" Wollongong one.
Interesting at the start this one says "turn to WIN News", but at the end "WIN Local News".

Great promos, especially the endboard. They're doing a really good job at modernising the look of the news and upping the quality from Geoff's reports, to the new graphics and promos.

I agree. One other thing I would like updated is the set. They should get a new background, to replace the blue "control set" and use OTS Graphics again, which they stopped using sometime after updating them in 2009.

They need to update their logo on Twitter accounts now, to replace this old one:

Here's one I quickly whipped up that (I think) looks much better than the one they use now:

Thoughts?

The logo will be barely readable in the smaller previews. Perhaps stick with WIN being on top of NEWS but with the new font. Looks good otherwise.

I tried on top first but it looked a bit odd. The text looks better long wise.

I think they'll use the one they have on their Vimeo account.

I think WIN has done a great job with this latest refresh. They seem to have suddenly renewed their focus on news, which is something I haven't seen from them for a long time. Those promos have amazing production quality - same with Perth's new one. There's certainly nothing cheap and nasty about their news brand(s) anymore.

Looking forward to when this revamp finally arrived in Queensland.
Not sure what's going on with presenters here at the moment, so many changes in the last 12 months it's hard to keep up.
We've had:
Samantha Heathwood (news), Daniel Sercombe (sport)
Then Sam left unexpectedly and it was:
Kathryn Doyle (news), Dan Sercombe (sport)
Kathryn announced it would be her last night presenting then we had:
Marita Ramia (news), Daniel Sercombe (sport)
Then again out of the blue we've had another change recently to:
Sophie Hull (news), Paul Murphy (sport)

Personally I'm not a fan of Sophie, noone has told her how to pronounce the names of any local suburbs, so she keeps getting the names wrong all the time which is irritating to locals, personally i believe Marita was much more professional, though on the other hand Paul does a better job at sport than Dan ever did!

All of these presenter changes plus the serious need of a revamp have cost WIN viewers locally, I know people who always tuned into WIN news that don't even bother watching it anymore and I don't blame them, the quality of WIN's bulletins has been shocking lately!

Saw the "Your News" promo airing with 6.30 Tonight at the end rather than Weeknights at 6.30.
