Does anyone happen to have any caps of the new Foxtel EPG on IQ? The presentation I mean? Thanks!

Foxtel wants to get everyone on them, I think they have a timeline of transferring everyone over.

They're aiming for a Nov 15 completion.

Yeah for the EPG, it is nice by the way.

However I thought he meant people not on IQ/IQ2 but standard boxes, and from what I read/heard was that Foxtel was attempting to get everyone not on a IQ to get on one sooner rather than later.

You're right, my bad.

From memory, Foxtel announced this initiative back when HD launched. I'm not sure how they'll manage to achieve a full changeover. At present, what does Foxtel do for Lite customers who want an iQ?

I don't think they will, but I could be wrong. So far I know that the iQ and iQ2 will receive the new skins as part of the full update. There could be an update for the existing Digital boxes, too?

Just did a forced update on my IQ1 and now have the new menus.... I gotta admit it looks so much better and easier to read... only took a few minutes to update...

Anyone else notice that some Foxtel channels are out of time with the EPG the past couple of days? FOX8 seems to be 5 mins behind, while a couple of other channels such as Nick are running 5 mins early. I'm on sat in Perth.

Foxtel have noted the issue and their website explains it in detail (kudos to Foxtel for being up front with the problem - Austar could learn a thing or two) ... The 'press green' method should apply to the new firmware, just like the previous one.

From the Foxtel Support website:

Series Links – you may be experiencing an issue

FOXTEL is making some important technical updates to bring you a whole lot of new services and features. This means some existing features are temporarily affected – like Series Link. In most cases, you may lose a single episode, but then your series link will restore itself. However, in some cases, there may be a permanent loss. To restore a lost Series Link, simply find the programme in your on-screen TV Guide select record and then press the green button on your FOXTEL remote control. Keep an eye on your favourite shows in your planner over the next 6 weeks.

Nevermind. Just got it.

Anyone who doesn't know how to do the force update on IQ from the STU do the following:

Press "BACK" and "SELECT" at the same time. - The STU will then reset.

Once all the lights come back on then press the following in order:

"STAND-BY" - "UP" - "DOWN" - "STAND-BY"


You will then see a blue screen with Firmware Update and then a white progress bar.

Could someone please be able to help me here.
I autotune News Night everyay at 1 AM on Sky News. I set it to Autotune to record on my PVR and it comes on most of the time, however some days it does not.

I make sure it's autotuned, and it always is. Is Autotuning supposed to come on even if the Foxtel box is off?

Question. The New Channels have appeared on our FOXTEL Box,but every channel has "Searching for Listings" Where EPG Information is meant to be. I have tried Switching off at the wall & restarting it,to no success.

Any Ideas??

That's weird. Some of them have got EPG data now, others still have "Coming Soon" til 6am EDST.

The box downloads TV Guide data when you're actually in the TV Guide. The music you hear isn't just AIR's Lounge, it's the actual EPG data channel. Restarting doesn't do anything, but scrolling through the grid into the future will probably give it a good kick-start.

I`ve turned on FOXTEL this morning,and it has fixed itself.
