In 2004 when they began the ratings climb they relaunched almost uniformly in a timely fashion the news theme, graphics, sets and content. The 'make the switch' campaign I thought was a great one.
Now in 2012 the brand is stagnated. Got the same theme from nigh on eight years ago, graphic changes that never seem to cut the mustard and states going their own individual ways with respect to sets and presentation.
I am so sick of seeing the Melbourne bulletin using the backdrop behind Peter Mitchell with life size sensationalist text and shabby images, it makes the bulletin look so so amateur. Where once there was some consistency in over the shoulder presentation, for example tv screens there is now very little effort with self developed, crappy OTS.
Could go on and on.

I'm tipping one, because the 7 News logo I saw on the side of a bus a few days looked glossier and a bit different. In light of the recently announced cost saving measures I don't see it happening, and wouldn't be surprised if we see this graphics package and editorial approach remain unchanged for several years. Seven News seems to be in a tailspin at the moment.
Just noticed the other day that the super promoting the 7 News headlines during DoND animated, like the Sydney ones, yet the main bulletin has no such animation. Pure laziness...

The 7 News logo has been glossy since the introduction of the current package.

Seems as if 7NEWS is making minor "who cares" changes to its bulletin rather than what's obviously needed.

what state is this in?7NEWS now dims the light at the end of the bulletin. Noticed it today - is this electricity cost cutting (aka budget cut measures) or to be unique. Also noticed when breaking news arises they begin to play the theme...
