Seven's movie tanked badly last night, and it's little wonder - even the advertisement's failed to capture any real interest, allowing Nine's screening of 'HP5' to sweep up the timeslot.
H&A down to dangerous lows, even for a Friday. Another boring and somewhat low-rating Friday night.

In the end, it got them a decent share last night. The movie isn't too far removed from TEN and it's three Simpson repeats last night. Clear difference is that 2.5 Men still rates.

Seven News delivering a blow-out win last night against Nine News, winning in all metro markets, including in Sydney with Chris Bath where Seven News was watched by 85,000 more viewers than Nine's bulletin.

is airing these rubbish telemovies some kind of contract requirement with the output deals? why would 7 bother. couldn't they just have pirates of the carribean 1 last night with #2 tomorrow and #3 premier next friday.

Ten should just buy MASH and screen it at 7pm. Much cheaper and GUARANTEED to rate higher than the very dismal and unappealing 7pm project.

Well, Ten used to have the rights to MASH up until around the late 90s. Before Neighbours started on Ten in 1986, MASH used to be aired on 7pm weeknights there, based from what I read somewhere.

Second week in a row that Bones beats NCIS. Can this become a continuing trend?

Good to see Nine having some luck with their imports, as well as Ten with NCIS and Seven with Bones. 5 US shows in the top 20, thats a good amount IMO, and good that Australian content dominates. City Homicide and Rush should be in the top 20.

Yeah I'm sure it would be a hit with Tens viewership.

Oh God no! No more M*A*S*H! 5pm, now you want it at 7pm! There must be thousands of ideas we could come up with, so that means 3 or 4 ideas a team of television programmers can think of.

Today has had a good week topped off by a convincing win in Sydney and Melbourne.

Yep just like the hit the 7pm project is! Besides Ten's viewership has to broaden out and change, there's no reason why a network can't appeal to all people, rather than just focussing on such a narrow audience and alienating a large chunk like they have been doing.

Of course there is, thousands of ideas not to mention thousands of half an hour shows that have ever been created that could fit into that 7pm slot. Just about any classic show (MASH included) would rate better than the 7pm Project.

I'm fairly certain TEN are ever going to change from their current focus upon the 16-39/18-49 demographics. They've probably had far more sustainable success in the current decade than any other past era.

If you don't like the market TEN targets, then there are another 4 networks which appeal to far older audiences.

I would prefer The 7PM Project over any "classic" repeated program any day... and repeats would only rate for so long if at all. M*A*S*H would bomb at 7pm, and certainly wouldn't win the under 40's like 7PM does most nights.

That's debatable and depends on how you measure success. For a network to have not had one successful Australian drama since their change in tactics in the mid 90's, I'd say they are far from being a success.

They are a network running on the cheap but not appeasing the masses; running the same movies a million times, having cartoons in primetime 6pm and repeating them for the upteenth time, still producing Neighbours despite its years of constant low ratings and lack of popularity in this country (I mean seriously who is watching that these days?), dishing out more programs created by Rove despite all of them having mediocre ratings, having a tryhard "trying to be cool" mentality, style and image filled with mindless programming lacking any real substance with not one intelligent or IMO entertaining show on the network.

They should be putting more effort into creating masterpieces that would be remembered for years to come rather than focussing all their attention on their pathetic attempts at being hip and meaningless. Ten is a network that would only appeal to a small subsection of the youth demographic. It has become a network driven by profits rather than actually creating any good television which they were once renowned for. But if a cheapo network is what you want, that is what you will get.

Thank God for that! At least GO! and 7TWO have something for everyone, unlike Ten.

Of course you would and your name says it all really, "seriously", you would be exactly the type of person the fat cats at Ten would be targetting. But my original point was like it or not is that MASH at 5pm gets close to what the 7pm Project gets at primetime 7pm and if it were on at 7pm would actually get higher ratings than that 7pm "Rove inspired" drivel.
