I think this is the first time a Friday night NRL match has been shown across Australia on GEM.

There will be no delayed broadcast on Nine, the only chance to watch it will be on GEM, otherwise listen to the match on radio.

11am Saturday (in Sydney at least).

^ Agreed. Though Bewitched is probably in HD if Nine got the HD versions from Sony, as it was remastered by Sony - but I have no idea if they did or not.

They got the HD remasters for Seinfeld which would be a nice addition to GEM - so I imagine they got the HD remasters of all Sony shows. Newer episodes of Antiques Roadshow are HD as well.

I wonder why Nine never got the rights to the PBS version of Antiques Roadshow.

Classic '60s sitcoms Green Acres and Bewitched move from Go! to Gem following the Olympics. Scheduled for 8am to 9am, they will break up the Home Shopping marathon that has been airing between 5.30am and 10.30am weekdays. Repeat screenings of the sitcoms will also air between 2pm and 3pm.

The afternoon airings started at the beginning of last month. Though the morning airings which you mention is new and, yes, breaking up that TV Shop marathon.

It's poor in comparison to everything I just flicked through one and 7mate both look fine but this looks so pixelated the commercials look clearer.

Hmm odd it was only during the NRL the Olympics looked perfect after the NRL... Anyway more HD NRL broadcasts please! If Ten get the rights I bet we will see every game simulcast on ONE at least I hope so!

I just checked my recording. The GEM quality was very poor. I can upload caps if required but any time there was motion, the picture was a mess, then as soon as the basketball comes on, its ok. It is possible that they adjusted the bit rates and gave more to LCN 9 durignt he futball so the Olympics looks better - just a thought.

And the HD remasters of Friends, which does air on GEM.

Just to add to this, TV Shop: Home Shopping has actually been cut down to two smaller blocks - 7-8am and 9-10.30am with other programs scheduled elsewhere. One now wonders if the advertisers were seeing a drop in sales due to GEM airing the infomercials in a large five hour block without normal programs to actually bring viewers (and thus potential buyers) onto the channel during that time (outside the home shopping addicts ;) ).

Apparantely, the Nine Presents filler segments are re-branded so they air on GEM as you can see in this recording from about 12:30am this morning (Hey, that rhymes! :P):

This clip also includes a 5 Second Ident for GEM and the Opener to Psychic TV to fill time. :)

They originally had no opener and closer for GEM Presents from my experience when the channel started but they soon added one for the GEM airings.

Edit: On a different note, I also noticed during CSI: NY tonight promo voiceovers noting the channel as 'GEM HD' at the end of promos.

For what it's worth, here's a clip of the purple version of the Sponsor Billboard currently used on GEM (and that has been since the launch of the channel in 2010 if I'm not mistaken):

The episodes that Gem has been airing of 'Yes Minister' seem to be missing lines of dialogue and occasionally entire scenes.

The ones I record on Foxtel are fine, but Gem (or their supplier) has definitely snipped them.
