Nat Geo HD and Discovery HD are slated for March, along with some other stuff.

Love MyStarHD. Works great, the FTAs are all fine on it too.

do you think that all austar viewers will ever get all fta stations or only the my star customers. i bet discovery hd an nat geo will look good in hd, i wonder if they will launch any more new channels in 2010?

My dad is a austar customer and he doesn't own a Mystar. It's looking increasingly likely that only Mystar customers will get FTA stations at a DVB-T level and not by satellite. I aksed my dad for advice on Pay tv, but then I decided at the end of the day I have no plans to sign up with Austar.

'Regular' Austar customers can not receive the terrestrial stations because their STBs do not have built in DVB-T tuners! Duh!

-In fact, your whole post made absolutely zero sense... Your dad is an Austar subscriber without MyStar - ok.
-It looks increasingly likely that only MyStar customers will receive DVB-T stations - correct, as it has been from the beginning.
-You've decided not to sign up to Austar.

Ok, why did I bother replying to that post? :wacko:

they might tell you that, but I got an email last week that said "Prime hasn't commenced broadcast of 7Two yet and this is why Austar is not broadcasting it" - I gave them an email back with both barrels and told them to pull their finger out.

Austar = useless.

Wish I could sign with Foxtel.

Ermm... IQ isn't DVB-T compatible... So it would actually make things worse for you.

i recently emailed austar about getting free to air channels for all customers on there service and i got a different response than usual. AUSTAR RESPONSE:
At this stage the implications of how the minister's announcement that the Rudd Government will implement a satellite service to provide digital television to viewers in regional blackspot areas has not been fully addressed.
I am sure that if this falls under the government's analog switch off program, AUSTAR will be involved in some way. THE USUAL RESPONSE IS NO IT WOULD BE TO DIFFICULT.

i was told when they have their Download service available, similar to Foxtel's, that it would be offered. They said tentatively "March-ish".

Will Austar be getting all the new channels from Nov 1, same as Foxtel viewers?
