Is there any reason why News 24 has been getting clean BBC feeds recently?

A few days ago, they showed the BBC's coverage of the Diamond Jubilee commemorations from Westminster Hall. Last night, they switched to a clean feed of the BBC's coverage of Sarkozy's speech (only getting the very end of it!).

The Diamond Jubilee commemorations were not a clean feed. The BBCs super's just fitted very well under ABC News 24's. You could still see a blue/purple glow to the sides though.

If anyone is free tomorrow night, could someone please upload some screen caps of the ABC News special ‘Queensland Votes’ from 7pm? These will be for the Spy Archive. Thanks.

Why those graphics look very different, not really! Actually I don't mind that, they still look pretty good, should be a refresh at the next federal election anyways.

They seem to be having some problems with their BBC satellite link tonight. The sound has been appalling all of the way through the current bulletin. A few minutes ago, an ABC Brisbane testcard suddenly appeared then a few seconds later the News 24 countdown appeared and then a few seconds later returned to the BBC. Then, a minute ago the countdown reappeared and a few seconds later the BBC returned, this time with good sound.

Whoever at the ABC did the photoshopping on those pics of the candidates didn't do a good job...they're all fuzzy and jagged

3am Asia Pacific Focus

They could do better, not having so much repitition, in particular Newsline, but it will be good to see BBC World News at 5am in the east when an early start is neccessary.

I probably haven't been paying attention, when did News Exchange start? Seems like a good low cost addition to News 24, going through the online site. Though, the presentation looks like it could do with a little work.

The missing hour is for daylight savings.

Yes, but there shouldn't be a missing hour, we are moving clocks back, not forward.

UPDATE 1/4: Big Ideas aired in the missing hour.

Looks like the overnight schedule is finding its feet with news on the hour every hour now, all day!! Good to see!

AEST
Al Jazeera News at 1am and 4am
BBC World News at 2am and 5am
Australia Network News at 3am

That is good to see. They now certainly have a better overnight service than Sky - having world news bulletins every hour from three different broadcasters is certainly more relevant to Australian audiences than a feed of a UK domestic news channel.

It's really good having Al Jazeera at the more accessible time of 1am.

I'm a little disappointed that the Melbourne backdrop, just used on The Business, does not appear to be live. It is definitely darker now then the backdrop would have you believe.

EDIT: To clarify, the backdrop use for the Greg Hunt interview.
