The slider background in the Canberra studio.

Is this Budget 2012 set-up temporary? The 7.30 special came from the normal Parliament House studio without any changes, which makes me think it has been set up somewhere else.

I was hoping it was permanent, because it looks nice, better than the normal studio.

I think one of Richard Davies panelists must have gone walk about, there's only 4 now.

News24 sailing close to the wind, they just went to a press conference (appeal) by Victoria police only to cut into it and Joe O'brien saying 'we've cut into that due to issues we can't discuss here' and just completely ignored it, tried to go onto next story.

Just found it a bit weird, wouldn't it just be legal restrictions?

Court restrictions probably. Information that can't be shown to a certain state or something.

If the press conference is about a court appeal then it is correct not to show it due to court restrictions (we can always get the info on other media websites later anyway). But if it is police appealing for information related to a crime then we should be able to see the press conference, who knows interstate viewers may have vital information which may solve the crime.

And I just thought it was the second part, they were appealing for information over the 2004 murders of police informer Terrence Hodson and his wife... That is why I didn't quite get it and still don't because no reason was given.

In today's Capital Hill special program, the video wall seems to have gone walkabout... or is this another set?

Perhaps they are installing the slider panels from the Budget set to the main set?

According to Lyndal Curtis' twitter: "we just did something a bit different because it was a different kind of show."

Good old ABC. "Shall we do the show from an awkward corner today?" "Why not."

I can't say I'm a fan of their Canberra setup. The video wall it isn't used all that well and it always seems cramped. I think it's something to do with the camera angles. I quite liked their temporary budget set though. If they could integrate elements of it with the video wall area it could be quite good.

Ok, it was a prerecorded interview, or Miriam changed outfits and studios in a flash at the end of the interview

She's quite a capable newsreader IMO, as a junior member of the News24 team. Good to be seeing a bit more of her.
