Bulletins on News24 at 6pm, 7pm, 9pm, 10pm & 11pm AEST on the weekends are the highest of any program and bulletin on News24 across the week?

Bulletins on News24 at 6pm, 7pm, 9pm, 10pm & 11pm AEST on the weekends are the highest of any program and bulletin on News24 across the week?
That surprises me.
And on Saturdays there's nothing good on any other channel so those who are home turn to news. So it does sound strange at first but it makes sense.Sunday nights always get the highest ratings on Seven and Nine don't they? Everyone is home.

Very true. Far too many of these ugly and inconsistent in house hacks at News 24. The over-the-shoulder graphic is the worst of them all IMO.Foul. Why can't they stick to the professionally designed package?

They've missed some pretty major things too. The weekday Breakfast opener has white sliders in the title card, the weekend one doesn't.
The World image in their title card (which was done by the pros) animaties in a completely different way to the other title cards.

Couldn't agree more. They have a great presentation set but every time they make a minor change, it just brings in more inconsistency... who do we write to about fixing all the little problems? Lol!

It comes down to money. The BBC and Al Jazeera can afford to keep employing the pros to develop their look. The ABC just doesn't have the cash to get top quality people and has to rely on in house to adapt and develop their look.

True, although Al Jazeera and BBC haven't touched their look since it launched, that's the key to keeping a successful graphics package successful.

They have touched it, they've just done it in a way that follows the existing package when they have to, and otherwise stick religiously to the templates. I find the ABC team seems to try and get creative with their changes, and almost always fail miserably.
