I didn't post about it for exactly the same reason. It was nice to be able to watch it half way around the world. Hopefully, it will be back soon.

There is a story on the flipper that reads:

"Palmer appalled by revelations Santoro offered to lobby ABC"

To start with, why does it matter what Clive Palmer thinks? But more importantly, the way I understood the story was that Santoro approached ABC Managing Director Mark Scott offering to lobby, for the ABC, the would be communications minister under a coalition government, which is not at all what comes accross in the line above.

Yes, it seems to be quite a misleading story to post on there. Often, the news flipper does not capture the correct nature of the story as is abbreviated to an almost incomprehensible phrase. If they could somehow extend the available text size, perhaps it would make more sense (e.g. by 'flipping' to a second page relating to the same story)

They should've broadcast some of Parliaments rare overnight sittings last night. Also it would be good to have another replay of Lateline about 2.30 or 3am again.

Don't know how long this has been in effect, but I just noticed today that Contact Sport has a new look matching the looks of Grandstand and The Business. There's also a new presentation angle, overall it looks quite good. I wouldn't mind News 24 implementing this look across the board.

I wouldn't want it on shows like The World, Afternoon Live etc but it's good for the focused shows.

Watching Breakfast this morning and the set is so bad. Hurry up and build a QLD set in Vic!

Out of curiosity, why not? Because there'd be no 'ABC News' in the title?

Because they package they have now is the best going round and it's an unnecessary change.

It's a good variation to have it for those focused shows and the standard horizontals for the news program's.
They could use it on Capital Hill or Newsline?

I'd like to see Newsline brought into N24 style. It's actually quite a good show despite the awful presentation and crappy timeslots.

Whitney Fitzsimmons presenting Mornings shift today (probably as Joe O'Brien filled in on Weekend Breakfast). Whitney did not present Business Today.

So Andrew's filling in for Michael, Joe's filling in for Andrew, Whitney's filling in for Joe, and someone else is filling in for Whitney? One person is away and it throws the whole channel out of whack...

There are two people away from News Breakfast. They normally just get Paul Kennedy (god knows why) to fill in for Michael. If not Paul than Waleed normally steps in but between his show on RN and Project commitments i assume it's too much for him these days. Bev and Karina would work fine.

Surely something can be done about the crappy looking 4:3 split screen views on ABC News 24... I think I actually liked the one with the two windows slightly overlaid but more screen space used. This current one wastes all the side area and looks awful on a widescreen TV - everything is crowded in the middle.
