too late in that all the excitement that the promos have generated will have died down.
You have to remember that most of that 'excitement' is coming from people like us who like to follow what is going on in the media. The average Joe sitting at home wouldn't even really know or care that the launch of ABC News 24 is imminent.
The promo loop isn't really about creating excitement rather more of an awareness campaign that could run for months if they really wanted, reserving the channel ready for a launch. People will see it being played on ABC1 & 2 and then perhaps try looking for channel 24 out of curiosity, see the promo loop and think nothing of it again until the hear the channel is active.
I think the one thing we can all just about agree on is that by the end of July the channel should be up and running, the common consensus appears to be â€˜mid-Julyâ€™ and this coming week is the start of mid-July.
