ONE is rating shit at the moment and is easily the worst performing of the digital channels. Ten should consider dumping it.

They make a profit and its ratings will only get better throughout the year. I don't see the point of dumping it.

Before you start bagging the channel out, ONE managed about 2 and a half percent a few nights back. Quite impressive for ONE if you ask me. Plus, its a niche channel, you are always going to get a smaller number of viewers than the other channels.

Does anyone know if ONE (SD) and ONEHD's ratings are combined or separate?

Combined... same as if Ten was showing the same thing as ONE.

A better than usual share for TEN last night. Perhaps Ghost did well last night. If so ... if the drama attempt fails again ... TEN should consider going back to some of there older collection of movies ... instead of the billionth rerun of About a Boy, Love Actually or Mean Girls.

One SD and HD are combined because they show the same content. If Ten is showing what is on One then the program ratings are combined and will be shown to be on Ten, however the shares will be separate.

The problem with the digital channels comparison in summer is that whereas Go and 7Two can continue with decent programming, One doesn't really have an option, because most of the major sporting events they have the rights for are not currently on.

The deal that One might have been particularly disappointed to miss out on is the EPL, which is on Foxtel until 2013 now.

why the ridiculous amount of shows, and pointlessly small ratings for them?

Well, we always see what's at the top of the chart, so presumably its go give an insight of what's on the other end.

ABC3 must have a decent rating show from 6pm-8pm to get 0.6% in primetime because from 8pm-midnight they only get a top rating show of 8,000.

ABC2 Close - 1,000 - think someone left their people meter on? Or maybe they fell asleep watching the last show.

Some of these don't add up:

320 6TEEN ABC3 4,000 3,000 0 0 0 0
321 COMBO NINOS 7TWO 3,000 0 0 1,000 0 1,000
322 HONG KONG NEWS SBS ONE 3,000 0 2,000 0 0 0
326 FILIPINO NEWS SBS ONE 2,000 0 0 1,000 0 0

Maybe some of these 0's are actually a few hundred, which when added to make the national figure, round them up an extra 1,000 compared to the addition of the 5 cities?

People keep saying one is rating badly because there is hardly any sport on at the moment. Gosh I don't know then why do a year round sport channel on both the HD and SD digital channel and instead use one of the channels for their low rating content like their competitors seem capable of doing?

If Ten do decide to do that with their third stream then they'll do that in due course. Ten's second digital channel is already in use as ONE so you'll have to wait till another sole channel is launched later this year to see if Ten'll have such a service in existence.

Yes, the figures are rounded to the nearest thousand so occasionally you'll get discrepancies such as this.

But Stephen's suggestion could happen when ONE SD is replaced with a new channel.

Yes, what I was saying was that you'll have to wait to see what they end up doing as the channel isn't even due to late this year.
