Fox - it's also the first week of non-ratings.

That figure is up on where we were at this time last year.

There's a reason it's non-ratings - our key demos go on holidays, so it's not an accurate picture!

Given that - we're very pleased with those figures.

Now on your beloved blinds issue (and I appreciate your passion), I think you'll be happy with the compromise we've reached.

If you've been watching, you'll know we're using the plaza for entire segments - and the blinds are open for the very first segment of the show.

Hey the producer!

'beloved' ...and 'blinds' do not belong next to each other.

i said the stuff about the ratings BECAUSE wasn't one of your big things with blinds down that "ratings were up". cool that the blinds are open for the first segment. that;'s exactly the kind of thing i was saying... for newsy timeslots of the program, i think it would be a bonus to have the solid 'reality' look (which i love by the way when it's appropriate). sure at 8:50 go as yellow as you like! i think around 6 and 6:30 and say 7, window would be great

Nat goes on holidays next week.

By the way Im glad you are doing more segments outside theproducer. they are well worth it - much better use of Martin Place.

Who do you think will replace her?
I'm leaning to Simon Reeve or Mark taking over the whole news and sport.

I met Grant in the Qantas Club yesterday afternoon. We were both stuck in Sydney due to the hailstorms and there were no flights going anywhere. The poor guy looks pretty tired - how often does he have to jump off the weather wagon, on a plane back to Sydney and then go back again?

On the bright side, in person he completely lived up to my expectations. Friendly, approachable, and wasn't making a big deal of who he was - just standing in the queue like everyone else waiting for and hoping for a flight.

Well 7pm still seems to early to go to bed.

Watch Grant 24/7

How is it 24/7 if we can't watch when he is sleeping, not that I particulary want to watch him sleeping.

Very good point. I don't get it Mr Producer, correct me if im wrong, but Grant is on the weather wagon "around australia" for the next couple of months?

Surely him coming back and forth and back and forth completely defeats the purpose of going around Australia... that is if its for Sunrise he comes back for... not his own personal business. I just find it bizzare that he is "going on a quest around Australia" but then has to fly back every Friday...
