Auditions are very soon, must be going to air later this year then.

Ronan Keating, Kyle Sandilands, Guy Sebastian and Natalie Imbruglia were mentioned as judges in the promo

I wonder if Seven will strip it a couple of times across the week. With Masterchef out of the way, will this be the big franchise for the last quarter?

I'd have a chuckle if they get Dan MacPherson to host it

Strangely excited for this! The judging panel seems perfect, and the fact that finally bands can audition is great...I just feel sorry for TEN. Looks like Idol's dead.

plus Dancing with the Stars, genre is almost becoming as overdone as the factuals were in 09!

I'd suggest the development of shows such as this and Beat the Star are possibly in response to the dwindling ratings of the various weeknight factuals.

That or they're hoping to pick up the Idol audience.. or what was left of it.

I think they're heavily affected by Masterchef. I'd wait until that was over before calling them dead.
On the X Factor, if Seven pump this up, it could be huge.

Good move- the show has matured A LOT since Ten tried their version. WHatever they do it needs to be BIG!!!! I think the judging panel will work surprisingly well- Ronan Keating is quite a sign for Seven. Something on the panel for all demographics. Will be interesting to see who hosts- not Daniel McPherson because who can see him hosting three shows. I have my money on James Tobin to get the younger crowd in.

Would It be a case of Déjà vu if Seven hires Dicko to do another Idle..Idol type show.

wow so it's actually hapenning. that's a good lineup of judges except for Guy Sebastian. don't like him. wonder what all of that denying it business was? very surprised it is coming this year if it's pulled off it will be a fast turnaround a year before the US version even though we've known about the US version for months.

7 are turning into a reality tv powerhouse. DWTS, AGT, B&TG, M<R and now XFactor. they had lifestyle shows in the early naughties, factuals in the late naughties, reality tv could be their tennies thing.

for host, if James Kerley is on 7 i wouldn't go past him.

can't believe they got Ronan Keating!

I think they should of gotten Sharon Osborne, so we can hear her whine about Danni

Will we see Big Brother make a comeback? What's happened to the Big Brother house anyway up in Dreamworld?
