What ever happened to Demi Harman joining the show? Haven't seen her on yet.

Ash, next year. She's in season 5, 7 are still dragging out season 4. God they could be airing season 5 this year, it's already finished filming, but 7 is so cheap they'll drag things out so they can splash less money on drama.

Last nights episode was fantastic but could have easily been the final ever episode of Winners & Losers if they wanted to close it off nicely. We had old cast members back, characters leaving and the final scene with the $1.3million would have been a very fitting way to close the show off. I'm assuming when they wrote this they were thinking it was a good chance it wouldn't be renewed.
Another 13 episodes due to air in 2016.
Does that mean Season 5 only has 13 episodes? I hope so, theres no need to drag it out for another full season. 13 episodes would be good to promote as a final season.
Edit: OK according to Wikipedia Season 5 is only 13 episodes so hopefully the last. Especially since the following cast members are all not returning: Katherine Hicks, Tom Wren, Sibylla Budd, Francis Greenslade and Laura Gordon will not return as Sam Mackenzie, Doug Graham, Carla Hughes, Brian Gross and Izzy Hughes respectively.

That's what happens when they film way in advance.

Yeah problem is with a lot of the current cast not returning next season the show will probably fizz out. Last night would have been a great opportunity to close it off as the storylines kind of did anyway,

Obviously the renewal was an eleventh hour thing. That episode was definitely intended to be the series finale, it was so obvious. I guess 7 had nothing in development or worth considering.

It just follows the pattern of previous shows on Seven.
The network is unsure of whether the show has the legs for a full season so they hedge their bets and commission a shorter 13 episode season. They did the same with Packed to the Rafters and Blue Heelers.

Then they axe them anyway. It's all so wishy washy. It's also like 800 words. Lord you know they have no faith in that with only eight episodes. It would have been dirt cheap to make to being a co-production, easily could have tried with a full season.
I wonder what they'd do if 800 tanks horrendously. I wonder if they'd burn off all the eps of W&L.
