He's been on over the last couple of weekends. I thought it may have been just while Paul J Turner was on holidays as he was doing the Saturday Morning shift Paul J normally does. Sounded ok too.

Paul J Turner is on afternoons this week filling in for Peter Rudder. Murray Shoring did the last Saturday and Sunday he normally fills in for Paul J on Saturday and Sunday Morning. Greg Newman does usually weekend afternoon.He's been on over the last couple of weekends. I thought it may have been just while Paul J Turner was on holidays as he was doing the Saturday Morning shift Paul J normally does. Sounded ok too.

Considering its recent ratings success, I wonder what others think about Magic 1278 (Melbourne).
As a 60 year old, I enjoy the softer Top 40 hits from the era (the daytime format) with good and informative presenters plus the hourly news.
I've notice a slight change in the music in recent times (since the demise of 3MP) with more 1970s (and some 1980s) with a few "edgier" songs.
Magic 1278 compliments Gold 104 (which it has now overtaken in the ratings).
There are thousands of "hits" from the Top 40 over the past 50 years and Magic 1278 is the place to find them especially from the 1960s and 1970s.

I hope River (i.e. Grant) buys 4BH, then they can put River 949 on digital across all of Brisbane - that would be sweet!
OR Rebel Media, they could combine 4BH/Breeze which is a nice fit, and then put Rebel FM on digital in Brisbane - I know I'm dreaming, but that would rock!!!

According to Jock's Journal, 4BH in Brisbane will have a new Saturday night music program, titled Saturday Night Bandstand, which will focus on music of the 50s & 60s. It will be presented by Jamie McDonald & will air from 6pm until Midnight.
Sounds like that 4KQ's Jukebox Saturday Night will have some fiece competition from 4BH's new program.

It has been on air for a few weeks now. It is also up against Saturdaynight Jukebox on 92.1 Breeze FM from Beaudesert which can be heard in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.

At 7:10 am on Monday 24th September, 4BH is going to be renamed. Apparently they've been doing some soul searching & have taken a long hard look at themselves. I don't know if there's going to be a format & lineup change too, & no ideas on what the new name is going to be as yet?

4BH dropped in the last survey 1.4 percentage points, shedding listeners across all timeslots. This is their 80th year having started in 1931.
