I notice that Fox Sports has dropped the channel numbers from its watermark during its live sports telecasts, so what the viewers see is simply FOX SPORTS LIVE. Also, when they return from a break, they show the Rugby World Cup logo on the left of the watermark with tiny words "X days to go" under it.

If Sam Stosur makes the final of the US Open, surely it will be the biggest event(or significant sporting event featuring an Australian) ever broadcast live and exclusive to Fox Sports? i can't think of anything bigger (2010 T20 final Australia vs England would be next biggest)

Have you forgotten the Super Rugby grand final between the Reds and the Crusaders back in July 9? That got a huge audience too.

I don't think Super Rugby is on the same level as a Tennis grand slam or t20 world championships. Nine also show Super Rugby (highlights)

Sam Stosur made the French Open final in 2010.

Nine also had the French Open rights and broadcast that final

The Asian Cup final held earlier this year between Australia and Japan delivered one of the biggest Pay TV ratings figures on record (which has since been broken I think?), was a lot of build up to that.

The size of the Fox Sports HD live logo became a bit of a problem during the opening Rugby World Cup game earlier today, it was initially blocking part of a watermark put on by the host broadcaster. It was later moved to the extreme far right (VERY deep in the 16:9 safe zone) with no room to spare! They really have to make it a bit less intrusive I think. There were no such problems on the SD stream, though the logo was also pushed into the 16:9 safe zone.

Won't be surprised if it also gets the rights to the Indian Premier League next year.

Must be concerning for Fox Sports when many of their subscribers still watch the free-to-air equivliant (ie last night's Rugby World Cup match). Countless tweets bashing Nine's commentary "Ray Hadley sucks, i'm switching to Foxtel".

Why wouldn't you be watching Fox Sports coverage in the first place?

To be fair Sifon, it was the biggest ever Pay TV audience in Australia - 719,000. Can't see them being too concerned.

I would suggest 95% of those were watching FS anyway and just wanted to bash Hadley for the sake of it.
