I know it's been discussed before between the mods...but I'm wondering why Media Watch can't be moved to the News & Caffs forum?

I think it would make a lot more sense to have it in the News & Cafs forum rather than the tv shows forum, as it really isn't a general tv show, it's directly related to News & Caffs.

The TV Shows forum is basically for entertainment type tv shows, and Media Watch is a serious news program which I think needs to be in the News & Caffs forum.

As a former mod SS you were across these discussions and you know the answer.

The news/caff forum is about programmes that report news and current affairs as the name implies.
Media Watch is about news and current affairs COVERAGE, it's not about news and current affairs of the day.
It's a fine distinction but a relevant one.

I know I was in with the discussions, but I believe it's still a relevant point.

If Media Watch isn't allowed in the News & Caffs forum because it is about News & Cafs coverage, then why do all of these threads exist in the News & Caffs Forum:

Steve Irwin
Peter Brock
Osama Bin Laden
QLD Election Coverage
Eddie Wields the Axe at Nine
Tasmanian Mine Rescue
Richard Carelton Death
Bali Bombings Coverage
Space Shuttle Landing
London Explosions
Michael Jackson Verdict Coverage
Graham Kennedy Funeral Coverage
Corby Verdict Coverage
WA Election Coverage

All of these threads are devoted to News & Current Affairs coverage, in the same way that the Media Watch program is about News & Caffs coverage. So, if all of these threads exist about coverage, then why is Media Watch any different?

From the look of that list they're all legitimate news stories or are discussing the coverage of legitimate news stories.
Media Watch in and of itself is not.
Thanks for your input SS.
You've made your point and it has been noted.
Having said that I don't regard it as a big deal... one way or the other

Are the cookies working properly or whatever it is that records my usage. It keeps saying I have new posts to view, when I have already opened them.

Tends to do what it likes for me. I was logged in in one tab, but had to log in again in another tab a few minutes later to add a reply...

Any chance we can get the thread browsing on the top of the window?

ie; Where it says 'Media Spy-Mozilla Firefox' perhaps it could be (using this thread as an example), 'Feedback - Media Spy- Mozilla Firefox', this would also helpful for the back button down menu, where all i see is a list of Media Spy, not a big deal, I just think it would be helpful.

I have to comment, after a week or so with the new skin, I'd like the Quote title (IE the person you are quoting's name) to justify back on the left hand side... I HAVe a high screen resolution, and it's right over the other side of the screen....

AHA!!

At least someone agrees with me! biggrin.gif

Seriously though, it's the truth, it looks really odd over to the right.

That is one tweak I am giving consideration to... I certainly haven't gotten used to it - I can't expect anyone else to have! embarrassed.gif

I've been thinking the same thing since the relaunch, but hadn't mentioned it.

It's much better on the left smile.gif

Cheers! That looks good.

and I also agree with the alignment of the quote boxes, back on the left would be great!

If you want it on the left and have Firefox, install the Stylish extension from here: https://addons.mozil...g/firefox/2108/ and then click the icon it installed in the bottom right of the screen and select "Create style for mediaspy.org" and in the box that opens put in this code (replacing everything that is there already):
CODE
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);

@-moz-document domain("mediaspy.org") {
.quotetop{
    background: #CCC url(style_images/QSpy06/css_img_quote.gif) no-repeat right !important;
    border-left: 3px solid #9d0039;
    color: #000;
    font-size: 10px;
    text-align: left !important;
    margin: 8px auto 0 auto;
    padding: 3px;
}
}

Then put a name of your choice in the top box and click save. Then refresh and the quote text will be on the left

I like the new quote and code things. Very Nice. They stand out.
