So correct me if I'm wrong

But it looks like S.O.O 1 nationally including regionals beat the 2011 AFL grand final by over 500,000 viewers.....

Here comes a 1.4 Billion $ pay day......

well maybe not 1.4..... but over 1 billion easy.

but coming in to another possible GFC (listing to the media) that could knock the price down for tv rights.

do we know when the rights are finalised?

Last night's ratings:

@MediaweekAUS Fri TV FTA #AFL: 691k (Syd 20k Mel 446k Bri 26k Ade 106k Per 93k) 7/7mate #afldogscats

@MediaweekAUS Fri TV FTA #NRL: 717k (Syd 350k Mel 77k Bri 280k Ade 2k Per 8k) Early game 9/GEM
@MediaweekAUS Fri TV FTA #NRL: 395k (Syd 218k Mel 27k Bri 145k Ade 3k Per 2k) Late game 9/GEM

Good figures in Melbourne for the NRL game between the Storm and the Broncos :) Surprisingly high figures in Sydney for the South Sydney-Canberra match given their current ladder positions.

Very handy melbourne figure, it was a smart decision by the NRL to have the Storm play on a friday night after Origin as interest would be at it's peak.

Solid numbers for two fairly lowly-supported AFL teams and the poor weather probably gave both football codes a boost in Melbourne.

Ch7's coverage seems to be getting worse. They seemed to want to use every camera angle but the normal side-on one, if my team wasn't playing i would have turned it off. For league fans i hope for their sake Ten gets the rights.

After the solid figures for Origin on Wednesday, GTV should have run Storm v Broncos live on the primary channel. Couldve done 200k or so.

Just to clarify, the Storm game was the early (live) game into Melbourne? Was it also the early game into Adelaide and Perth?

Seven will be regretting its decision to choose GWS v Essendon instead of Adelaide v Collingwood as its national broadcast game after seeing its ratings tomorrow morning...

The Adelaide/Collingwood game was broadcast into Adelaide tonight... so you would expect good numbers there, but yes the Essendon/GWS game was a thrashing!

Adelaide v Collingwood: 480k on foxtel/seven in Adelaide
GWS v Essendon: 465k on foxtel/seven everywhere else

More people watched the Crows/Pies game despite reaching 12 million less FTA viewers.

A.F.L figures for last night.

Mediaweek@MediaweekAUS
Fri TV: <s>#</s>AFL FTA 861k (Syd 47k Mel 528k Bri 47k Ade 115k Per 125k) 7/7mate Sub TV 315k #FoxFooty <s>#</s>aflsaintstigers

Very impressive figures for a match between 8th and 9th on the ladder.The A.F.L would be very pleased with the figures they're getting this year.

I think last night's game will be one of top five most-watched AFL home and away matches this year, based on combined FTA/Pay TV totals.

One of the best games of the year and the numbers reflect that. Ch7 needed it too because there are some dud games today.

328k watching NRL in Brisbane which is the largest audience for a non-rep game this year. And the broncos werent even playing!
