SBS has announced its largest ever campaign to promote their upcoming coverage of the Tour de France, in an attempt to capture audiences from the FIFA World Cup.

Well,Tour time again,& as always I'm enjoying the fantastic effort SBS go to-with one exception.Mike Tomalaris.

He's a dill.Every year he's shown to be completely out of his depth, yet every year he's there, exposing his ignorance of the basic subtleties of cycling racing to the world.
At least David Mackenzie does his best to compensate for Tommo. You can almost see him cringe at the idiocy of some of the things said around him,but to his credit he manages to point out said idiocy without actually insulting the guy.A neat trick.
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong

2012 Tour starts tonight coinciding with news that the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has filed formal doping charges against Lance Armstrong that, if proven, would strip him of his seven Tour de France titles.

AFP reports that at least 10 former Armstrong teammates and associates would testify against him, so Armstrong could be in trouble. But I absolutely believe he is innocent.

In 2012 Phil Liggett will call his 40th Tour for English-language broadcasters around the world. Paul Sherwen will commentate his 34th.
ABC journalist James Bennett will be reporting from the Tour for radio and TV news and online this year. Bennett and his father Mark (Perth-based ABC producer), both cycling enthusiasts, covered the Tour for the first time last year. ABC managing director Mark Scott was so impressed by the reports that Scott decided that Bennett would be covering the entire Tour in 2012.

But it means whatever program that is scheduled for 8.30pm in eastern states will be shown at midnight in Perth after the race telecast.
