Not disagreeing with the idea of starting in Feb with MKR. I like it, better lead in than the current season.

But (almost always a but), the problem with starting then will be the clash/overlap with the US version and local version if it is fastracked again on 7 or 7mate. Could create a bit of an Amazing Race overload and confusion for the non regular viewers.

If there's an Aussie version...there wouldn't be any need to fast-track the U.S. version. They can just air it later on 7mate.

They can't screen everything in February. They would have a bigger hole in their schedule in May/June if they showed everything early in the year.

The 19th season of the US version will premiere on CBS on September 25. Seven has the option of showing it on 7mate.

It depends on their strategy. This year I think they have purposely been incredibly top-heavy in order to have a lot of room to breathe for the June/July months before they do another big push.

Yes I got it wrong, the four remaining teams will travel to Sri Lanka in next week's episode before flying back to Australia. The finale will be 90 minutes long according to TV Central.

The article also says teams will visit Singapore before flying back to Perth, this confirms rumours on a comment I read on a website a few weeks back, that The Amazing Australia crew & teams were spotted filming in Singapore around November 29 last year.

According to advanced guides, next week's finale will be shown from 9pm to 10.30pm. That is another piece of silly programming by Seven  Who will switch half way through Rescue: Special Ops or The Renovators to Seven to see the final three teams travel to Singapore and then Perth, and to find out which team wins $250,000?

The core audience will. The 'I only watch the finale' types (see also: Masterchef) will probably drop in from 9.30ish.

What did the eliminated teams on TARA do after they were eliminated from the race, did they fly back to Australia to await the final leg or did they go to a elimination station like in the American version?

I wonder about that too. You should have asked one of the eliminated teams during their recent webchats.

Looking forward to the finale tonight at 9pm, but knowing Seven it will likely start at 9.08pm, I think Tyler & Nathan will win the $250,000, if they do I think they will have deserved it because apart from a 6th place finish in leg 1, they haven’t finished lower than 3rd place & have won more legs than Jeff & Luke & Renae & Sam. The show should surely get more than 1 million viewers tonight.

Excellent finish to the first ever Aussie series.
Spoiler

Bring on the next season, Seven! I hope the casting is just as great as this year's.

Seven it will likely start at 9.08pm.

On my EPG it said 9.10 start, which is ridiculous.

The timeline in the show didn't seem to match the sunlight patterns at all, bit suss.

But a great finale I wanted sam& renae to win but happy for Nathan & Tyler. Glad to see jeff& luke 3rd. Never liked them.

Totally agree! Great season, great production values, great cast, can't wait for next year!

I would've likeed Sam and Renae to win also. You're right, their car scenes to the finish line and the actually run up to the finish line did look suss.

Twitter seems to have reacted to the sunlight issue as well. They made it look like the surfers and models were neck&neck to the finish line but nathan&tyler looked like they got to the finish line mid afternoon by the time sam&renae got there it looked like midnight.

It was probably just the editing process though to make the teams seem more neck at neck to have that 'climax', isn't it? They do it all the time in the U.S. version.
