Regarding the sunlight issue, remember teams did not arrive in Perth until after 2pm. They spent so much time at the roadblock it would have been early evening when Tyler and Nathan arrived at the finish line. The episode was filmed in early December so the sun did not set until around 8pm. It was not surprising that Sam and Renae, and Jeff and Luke, arrived in the dark.

They started filming on Nov 5 last year so I would imagine the race would have ended in early December.

And anyone living around Perth will tell you it takes a long time to drive from Rockingham to Perth, so it was not surprising that Sam and Renae, and Jeff and Luke, arrived in the dark.

I wish we had Grant or someone do a behind the scenes blog during the season, similar to what Jeff Probst does for Survivor and Phil Keoghan does for the US version.

Don't really buy that. The sun was up in the sky when Sam and Renae were (supposedly) driving to the finish line, and it wasn't just setting when they got there, it was well and truly down. As WAtv said:

What did the eliminated teams on TARA do after they were eliminated from the race, did they fly back to Australia to await the final leg or did they go to a elimination station like in the American version?

According to New Idea magazine, the eliminated teams were sent to a private retreat in Thailand where they stayed until the top 3 teams were decided. I browsed the mag at the newsagent today and saw pics from their stay.

I read that he managed to juggle his schedules so he got to appear on both GCB and TAR.

Grant Bowler is confirmed for Season 2. The race has pretty much just finished filming.

Totally agree with you. Grant doesn't interact with the teams much so it makes his role seem almost pointless. He lacks Phil's charisma and comes across as a very cold, frigid person.

What a whore Nathan Jolliffe has become! I've seem him in concurrent campaigns for Roger David, MJ Bale, General Pants, Zanerobe! Surely that's not for the individual brands, having one face front different companies.

Wasn't he a professional model before he was on the show so he does modelling shoots for lots of companies? I remember seeing his face on Jeans West ads around the time he began on Amazing Race, as well as another jeans company. It's not like he has endorsement contracts because he's a reality show celebrity. It's just modelling work.
