Put it simply, the first cook-a-long of MasterChef Australia was an epic failure ratings wise.

13 HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE Network 9 653,000

It seems everytime Nine puts on Harry Potter it seems to do alright, it lifted their share to 28.8% from 25.9% last week.

The MC was over 90 minutes long and on a Friday night up against Harry Potter and BH&G!

Almost 700K viewers is a pretty good result IMO.

Masterchef: Masterclass used to pull 1.2-1.4 in the slot so the JMC version should be getting a bit more.

But with Ten's schedule atm, not many shows would pull 700k on a friday.

Its strange though that they only started with the 3rd movie last week, its as though they forgot that the new one was coming out soon.

They could have got a couple of more weeks of milage out of it.

The Harry Potter movies have had a history of rating higher on a Saturday night. If there's no Hey Hey next year, Nine need to play the movies on a Saturday night again. They could easily get at least five Saturday wins out of playing them again before the final movie in July.
