Week 46
Seven: 30.3
Nine: 28.4
TEN: 19.2
ABC: 16.5
SBS: 5.6

9 don't do too badly considering how few shows they have in the top end and losing their lead in digitals. That four nations really helped them this week.

another bad week for ten, how many weeks is that below 20% for them?

Why do people say X Factor is a failure?
It is the no.7 show of the week and there are only 2 non-7 shows that beat it.
The other networks would kill for a constant solid performer like it I think.

i think people seem to think it is a flop because in terms of numbers it blends with the wallpaper in 7's stable even though it is probably their most promoted show.

if it was doing what it is doing on another network it would be one of their top shows and a huge hit for them.

The X Factor isn't a flop. It has done well for 7. It has been doing well in the demographics as well. I think people just think seven would have been expecting more from it which is probably true. I think seven would have been hoping for around 1.4-1.5 in total people on sundays and atleast 1.2 on a monday where it is only doing 950-1.05. I think it's right on par to what it should be doing considering the digital channels, competition and fatigue in these types of shows. For the money seven has spent on it though I'm not sure it's what they would be needing for it. The 1.3 it got this week is really good - I don't think it has been getting that previously though.

Its not a failure, but more that Seven would be making a heavy loss on it considering the sheer amount of cash used and the amount of promotion the show got, they would have expected figures at the very least of 1.5m per ep to support such a budget and exposure.

One strong rating episode does not make The X Factor a hit. Let's not forget the entire season has struggled to top 1 million viewers and the demos have been average at best. This almost reminds me of people last year trying to palm Idol off as a hit based on the 1.6 million or so it got for a thirty minute block of its finale, after a disastrous season overall. I personally think/hope it will not be back.

I do hope The X Factor will be back, as Australia needs a singing competition every year. (Australia's Got Talent is a general talent competition so it doesn't count)
