These "winner announced" seperations are really getting out of hand, especially not necessary for shows like The Block and Beauty and the Geek.

Neighbours needs to a better lead-in like the news at 6pm, like what Home And Away has at 6:30pm,

If Home and away had a lead-in to the Simpsons at 6pm, I think Home And Away would be a 'cause for concern'.

Good finish for Beauty and the Geek. Interesting that the makeover episode did much better than the finale. I think Beauty and the Geek takes a lot of potential viewers away from Rush. Rake beat it again but both shows were really low and made CSI look almost respectable. Almost. The second ep of Rush was the timeslot winner even with those low ratings.

It's good that 30 Rock beat CSI:NY. Wonder if 30 Rock could have done better if it had a new show as a lead-in rather than HIMYM repeats.

exactly. Well they usually advertise peak numbers as well as averages in their press releases for things like this, so that should be enough instead of this 'winner announced' rubbish but I guess crap like this is always going to happen when you have your ratings agency owned and controlled by the networks with a vested interest in the numbers

For a show like X Factor I can understand there being a seperate "winner announced" section because the show itself does actually build up to this moment and have a clear section where the winner is announced. However a show like The Block doesn't. It has 4 auctions and after the 4th one we know who won. There is no real "winner announced" moment and there was like 3 or 4 mins left of the episode after the final auction. Therefore what was counted in the winners announced section? All of the auctions? Or the last 3 or 4 minutes? It's a bit ridiculous. The same goes for Beauty and the Geek, there was no real section where the winner is announced. It's a quiz and someone answering one question more than the other resulted in a winner. Seperating it is absolutely ridiculous as it is not like it's a unique show dedicated to who won and that final moment, but an ongoing episode like any other. What next are we going to have each week.. Beauty and the Geek - Contestant Eliminated?

Nine had three shows in the Top Ten in both Total People and 25-54s with Nine News, A Current Affair and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation all featuring.

Nine News was the night’s number one program in Total People across the 5 City Metro, attracting 1.271 million viewers and peaking at 1.4 million total viewers. The bulletin was first in its timeslot in Total People in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

A Current Affair won its timeslot in 25-54s, 18-49s and 16-39s across 5 City and along the East Coast attracting 1.037 million total viewers.

Day 1 of the Ashes First Test peaked at 1.2 million viewers across 5 City metro. The Ashes and The Cricket Show won their time slots in Total People, 25-54s, 18-49s and 16-39s across 5 City and along the East Coast.
