Ouchie!
On Beauty and the Geek was it absolutely necessary to break up the figure to include 'winner announced', probably not!

These "winner announced" seperations are really getting out of hand, especially not necessary for shows like The Block and Beauty and the Geek.

The 7pm Project figures are less than they were at this point last year.
Rush has dropped 300k from last year's finale.

Neighbours needs to go. The show has well and truly had it's day. It's only going to sink more and more once it moves to 11 and is not on a mainstream channel. I give it another year.

Neighbours needs to go. The show has well and truly had it's day. It's only going to sink more and more once it moves to 11 and is not on a mainstream channel. I give it another year.

Neighbours needs to a better lead-in like the news at 6pm, like what Home And Away has at 6:30pm,

If Home and away had a lead-in to the Simpsons at 6pm, I think Home And Away would be a 'cause for concern'.

I think Winner Announced is necessary. I think people do want to know the correct amount of people that did watch this certain part of the show.

Separating the 'Winner Announced' for all these reality shows is an absolute farce. The networks should just post that as a separate stat for their advertisers, not as a separate show in the ratings table.

Good finish for Beauty and the Geek. Interesting that the makeover episode did much better than the finale. I think Beauty and the Geek takes a lot of potential viewers away from Rush. Rake beat it again but both shows were really low and made CSI look almost respectable. Almost. The second ep of Rush was the timeslot winner even with those low ratings.

It's good that 30 Rock beat CSI:NY. Wonder if 30 Rock could have done better if it had a new show as a lead-in rather than HIMYM repeats.

exactly. Well they usually advertise peak numbers as well as averages in their press releases for things like this, so that should be enough instead of this 'winner announced' rubbish but I guess crap like this is always going to happen when you have your ratings agency owned and controlled by the networks with a vested interest in the numbers

For a show like X Factor I can understand there being a seperate "winner announced" section because the show itself does actually build up to this moment and have a clear section where the winner is announced. However a show like The Block doesn't. It has 4 auctions and after the 4th one we know who won. There is no real "winner announced" moment and there was like 3 or 4 mins left of the episode after the final auction. Therefore what was counted in the winners announced section? All of the auctions? Or the last 3 or 4 minutes? It's a bit ridiculous. The same goes for Beauty and the Geek, there was no real section where the winner is announced. It's a quiz and someone answering one question more than the other resulted in a winner. Seperating it is absolutely ridiculous as it is not like it's a unique show dedicated to who won and that final moment, but an ongoing episode like any other. What next are we going to have each week.. Beauty and the Geek - Contestant Eliminated? :eyepopping:

Huge demos for 30 Rock at 10.30pm. Only 6k behind the 8.30pm episode of Rush in the 16-49 demo, with comfortably more viewers than CSI in the demo.

1 Total Ppl Network 9 NINE NEWS 1,271,000 370,000 417,000 239,000 143,000 103,000
2 Total Ppl Network 7 SEVEN NEWS 1,237,000 304,000 398,000 231,000 136,000 168,000

Nine really should be winning by more in melbourne, with the ashes leading into the news at 6. It now appears that Sydney has become the new melbourne for nine news ratings.

24 Total Ppl Network 9 THE ASHES: FIRST TEST - AUSTRALIA V ENGLAND 601,000 174,000 208,000 94,000 55,000 71,000
29 Total Ppl Network 9 THE CRICKET SHOW 417,000 101,000 151,000 61,000 48,000 56,000

Excellent ratings for the ashes considering they went all day, with a brief interuption from the cricket show. Now these are the cricket ratings that nine wants.
