I could've sworn the promos for this week had Edith knowing full well what happened to Mr Kemal Pamuk, did Seven borrow footage from future episodes? Some of the one liners tonight were great, a good balance between drama, and some light heartedness. Next week looks really good!

GREAT episode last night! The season finale in two weeks looks explosive. Everything has been set up, it will only take a nudge to knock things sky high!

It's a nicely made series - good production values. But it's just a soap opera, no real dramatic value, in fact it becomes more melodramatic with every episode.

Just a reminder, the season finale, tonight, 8:40pm!
Has Seven been hyping up the finale, I don't think I've seen many promos for it.

Was 7s promo that said one life will be lost referring to the unborn baby only a few weeks in? Possibly Williams mother, bit misleading nonetheless.

The "life lost" mentioned in the promos in the early episodes was Kemal Pamuk, the attaché at the Turkish Embassy. That was the big death in the series with a mystery surrounding it.

I meant the finale promos.

Well, the unborn baby is still a life and it was pretty significant to the storyline too.

Yep, they say "one life will be lost" at 45 seconds. So it would have been the unborn baby, unless they were referring to Williams mum.

Great finale last night. That garden party scene at the end really sets everything up for next season. Speaking of which, any idea when will Seven start showing the second season?

I am currently in Hong Kong on holidays and this afternoon I saw DVD combo of seasons 1 and 2 on sale at HMV. The discs are imported from the UK. On another thread I read that Seven may show season 2 in February, I guess one of the reasons is that people may buy the DVD from the UK instead of waiting for months for Seven's broadcast.

Downton Dubstep...?? The new promo mixes new with old a tad too much. Maybe they have done some demo research and found the 'sunday-after-saturday night' crowd are the only ones they are yet to reel in for DA. The promo is great, but the song choice is whack.

Well we finished Season 2. i know I'm hard to please but the storylines had more holes than swiss cheese (love a cliche). Bordering on silly really. IMO season 3 would be a huge stretch. Off to find original Upstairs Dwonstairs now.
Bizarre that both UD and DA have same plotlines.

I agree I preferred season 1 to season 2 but for me at least that probably has to do with how refreshing and bold it was to have a show like Downton on TV in 2011. In season 2 we have come to expect it. Still, season 2 was very enjoyable and showed a lot of different aspects of Britain during war which I enjoyed (it helped that I was living in the UK while it was on I think as well).

Shirley MacLaine is joining the third season of Downton to play the American mother of Lady Grantham (Elizabeth McGovern). It's a huge coup for the producers and should generate higher ratings in both the UK and the US.

A Sneak Peek was aired during AGT last night. Focused on the relationship between Mary and Matthew. The background music was from The Fray and it worked beautifully. Could be another Revenge-esque promo where the music really lifts the promo!

It definitely got me excited, even though I've already seen Season 2!
