Really? I've been around here for a long time, and from what I see, as a Lefty (though still a has a real job, buys nice things lefty, not a dope-smoking, save the wales lefty) I would see the forum being pretty balanced generally.
World wide, serious journalism gets branded left-wing, it's not exclusive to Media Spy.

And as a Lefty, I still have no problem with Bold having a show and saying what he wants. If people follow that line of thought and want to watch it, why shouldn't they.
As long as it's a commentary program and not the 6pm news, I don't take offence to it being there.

Judging by your posting on MS and even your last class-loaded comments, I would never have considered you left wing.

Judging things and people seems to be something you get right into hey, yet it seems to lead you astray. Maybe don't judge Bolt on what he says, but what he's achieved to get to where he is. Is he a tosser? Sure. Does he come across so full of anti-Labor bile it makes me squirm? Sure. Has he worked hard to get where he is? Sure.
I don't get why people are calling for him to be yanked off the air. I'm more concerned that shows like Jersey Shore are going to air. Sure it's he's there as a pet project to Gina, but she too is in a position where she's able to do that, is it wrong oh her to?

By the way, you can be a socialist and enjoy capitalism at the same time! :stirthepot:

Because you never judge anyone on MS...

I don't get why people are calling for him to be yanked off the air.

Because he is a hate filled extremist who spreads misinformation and people can see how that would be detrimental.

By the way, you can be a socialist and enjoy capitalism at the same time! :stirthepot:

You enjoy speaking fluff... all the time!

Its obvious why preachers of hate on our screens and radios are a negative thing and its ok for me to express that.

You mean the 4:30 edition? That's how it's been for the last few weeks

Yes, but unlike it being a replay of the 10am edition. It will be an entirely new episode based on carbon tax details released at midday.

People calling for censorship of ideas & programs that conflict with their personal viewpoint scare me far more than Bolt.

Its not censorship, its wanting quality journalism and information. He isnt either. Its perfectly reasonable to express my opinions as a viewer. Im not suggesting Bolt be banned, Im suggesting Ten have some self respect.

Why are you watching Bolt if you want quality journalism and information? That's not the show at all...

Agreed. This show doesn't seem to be any different to an AM radio station featuring a right or left wing host...

Summers has Ten sources who claim Bolt's show will be given a prime time slot on the network if he improves his performance in front of the camera.

Just what we need. Far right wing nutters in prime time.

Hopefully not...

The spokesperson also denied reports that Bolt's show would be given a prime-time slot on the network if he improved his performance in front of the camera, stating that the source was “categorically wrong” and “completely uninformed”.

The Bolt Report is not moving to prime-time. It's the perfect vehicle for our Sunday morning line-up of news and opinion,” she said.

Too niche for primetime.
Look how MTR is going for an example of what would happen.

I don't know if it's too niche. TBR Prime Time would be very different from TBR Sunday. On weeknights, it would probably be an angry, aggressive, hyperbolic version of Today Tonight.

I keep trying to watch this unbalanced garbage, but i find it extremely difficult.
I know that Bolt is an an "opinion" journalist, but he does not even attempt to present a fair view of any subject that he chooses to warp.
He was OK on "The insiders" where he used to have a regular spot on the panel before he got his own gig - the other panelists could give him back equal to what he gave out and they could effectively shut him down when he started preaching extreme right wing propaganda. But now, with his own show, he has no counter-balance.

Next time there is a federal election in the offing, channel 10 will need to keep an eye on this show in order to keep their politics, as a network, in equilibruim - they may need to start up a new left wing show to offest Bolt.

In a word - it's unwatchably biased, and full of selective truths and inaccuracies - occasionally he throws in a geniune inconsequential or incontrovertable truth to try and throw us off the scent, but it doesn's work.

At a minimum, the show should be expanded to two journalists, with the second one being left-wing, and let them both go hell for leather. Now, that would be entertaining.

Ten won't be launching a left wing show. Gina would not let them.

There aren't many leftie journalists out there...Negus..Mike Carlton perhaps.
