The Voice may last only 10 weeks but it is enough to cause havoc on the ratings and serious damage to many programs on Seven and Ten. And these damages can be permanent.

My prediction is that once the blind auditions are finished, the shows ratings will drop. From what I understand the show moves basically being to 'another formulaic reality show'

Like I just said in the ratings forum, of course the show is going to drop, but it can afford to drop, because even if it looses half its audience (which I don't think it will) it is still going to be miles ahead of the X Factors first season ratings (which from memory hovered around 1 million)

Another feet for the show yesterday with the Facebook page reaching 100,000 followers. Unbelievable considering this time last week, it was only at 27,000.

Honestly I don't know whether the ratings will drop or not. I thought they would drop last Monday, but no they didn't. And last night I thought about 2.1 but again no. Last week channel seven people said that if the show rated that well next week then it was a hit. Now they are saying give it another few weeks.

The simple reality is this show is an unbelievable success story, one which, as someone else has said, is quite possibly the most successful television program since oztams inception.

Credit has to be given to nine and the shows produces regardless which channel you follow.

It's probably good news for the live shows. With only six live shows compared to X Factor's ten, it will make the live shows more event TV worthy.

So not much change at all with last week's adjusted figures.

Amazingly I was one of the first 50. One could say I liked it before it was popular

Glad they had tons of breaks. Allowed me to flick to the over channels to watch what was going on there. Ads were very handy across all three networks last night!

I recorded Biggest Loser and The Voice, didn't start watching either show until 8pm..... managed to get through both by 9:30. Pre recording it and watching it later does wonders.

I think the biggest audience driver is currently the point of difference - being the blind auditions. Once people realise that the show just becomes another reality series you will lose those people who arent interested (perhaps they were watching because of the hype)

Dont get me wrong, it will still rate well - but if they lose a large percentage of their viewers across the series, its not a good look

Alot of ppl dont get the interest for AGT and that just look cheap compared to this.

I think the pedigree of the judges has lot to do with this show's success. They aren't exactly hacks. So it adds some credibility. Nine will be happy with 1.6 mill for the live shows.

With both Rachael Leahcar and Karise Eden in the ARIA top 50, the money from the sales goes back to the voice stakeholders, however I think a nice thing they could do would be to donate some of the proceeds from Rachael Leahcar's sales to the Royal society of the Blind which she is the face of in SA.

2.51m last night. Amazing figures. Noticed there was some negative comments on twitter over the last 2 singers last night but regardless, The incredible success story that is The Voice continues.

Considering (thus far) this is the biggest TV show in Australia in about 10 years, you're kind of out of touch with what Australia wants to watch. Glad you aren't programming any network

I personally don't see the overwhelming appeal either. The audition rounds are interesting, namely because of the whole chair thing, but the rest of the program leaves a lot to be desired.

I must be the only person in Australia who can't be bothered watching this. And I don't think I'm missing anything. looks to be the usual "most emotional episode ever" "You won't believe your eyes/ears" "you won't believe what happens next" claptrap aimed at tweens and their parents.
