I don't understand why Channel Ten would do this. She is not very interesting. She showed on DWTS that she has little personality or a if she does have one it doesn't come across on TV.

She wasn't much better as a guest on Celebrity Apprentice either.

Meanwhile , Ten has a new lifestyle show coming up. "The Living Room" hosted by Amanda Keller.

Both sound awful. Honestly, the only two decent Australian programs to come from Ten in years have been TBYG and Offspring...

Lara Bingle. Just shit. This will flop bigger than Yasmin and the news revolution. It's a waste of money.

The Living Room shows promise. It's studio based with filmed segments. At least its a different take on the genre and they are trying something as they need content to fill the schedule.

You think there has never been a studio based lifestyle show before?

Nine's awful Our Place from 2005 comes to mind. Absolute trainwreck which was cancelled after five episodes.

And the knowledge of Barry Du Bois (The Renovators) won't go to waste.

Some people may remember that Ten has been down this lifestyle-genre track before with the successful Healthy Wealthy And Wise (1992 to 1999, initially fronted by Jacki MacDonald and Ronnie Burns and their team of specialists including Iain Hewitson and Ross Greenwood) but followed up by the dud Live This (hosted by Leah McLeod and featuring DIY man Rob Palmer, now on BH&G, and chef Darren Simpson) in 2000.

Yes Live This was terrible. Wrong Audience. They were trying to be too trendy. Probably only appealed to young professionals living in Paddington.

HWW was one of Ten's great hits of the 90s. Was a mainstay of Monday nights and was one of only a few prime time Australian content from Ten in those days.

TV Tonight reckons The Living Room may go to Friday nights. Does that mean there will be no more MasterChef Masterclasses on Fridays?

Lara Bingle will be a flop of proportions we have never seen before. You could not find a more unlikable and dull person to carry theur own reality show.

Less Masterchef can only be a good thing. Masterclass did well in the past (and was the inspiration for TBL's Healthy Living show or whatever it was called) but bombed spectacularly last year.

not necessarily. If Masterchef is at 7.00pm then The Living Room could run at 7.30 for instance. Master Class needs to be trimmed anyway, I think at one point it was going for 90 minutes which was way too long... cut it back to 30 minutes. The two shows would probably actually complement each other.

I agree. How were ten convinced to commission this show. I cannot see one positive at all. I would even question Lara Bingle's existence altogether.

Maybe Ten might want to capitalize on MasterChef's success and create a similar reality show, but based on something that complements The Living Room, like a renovation-based reality show.

Or they could always reboot SYTYCDA...

Both sound like ideas that are right up TEN's alley.
I. Like. That.

You mean just like The Renovators, oh wait, that failed!

Bring back Late News. At least then TEN had a filler of 10:30 content. Nowerdays they can't even find shows for 8:30.

No David Mott told TVTonight said it wont be coming back because they have allegedly increased the timeslot with boring repeats of procedurals. I find that hard to believe considering their 8:30-10:30 timeslots have sunken so far they would considered low for daytime.
