No excuses for either of these. They are both failures.
A decent hold for Terra Nova, but it will be under 1m next week. Terrible start for Ringer, with a repeat of Castle winning at 9.30pm.
I hope the V8's did well on 7mate. If they dont then what justification will there be to offer it in HD when people dont watch it when ti is offered.
if you call that an HD broadcast then you're frankly mad (not you personally). It was blocky as all hell. Compare it to the sports at the time on FOX Sports HD (live baseball etc) and it looked sub-sub-sub-par.
Watched Ringer and thought it was pretty good. Not surprised about the MCJ ratings though. Ten need to ease up on it a bit before they ruin it completely.

... and how exactly do you come to this conclusion ?? It held 99 % of its audience week on week.
I think you've caught the 'Ten Syndrome' of one eyed, rose coloured glasses reporting. 1.028 is not 99% of 1,206, which is what the first episode rated last week.

I was recalling the second episode figures.
Do that sexy thing you do with your tongue. Yeah. Talk intelligently and at length. Reow
Well, even that would be wrong considering the second episode last week did 1,157,00 and this week it did 1,028,000. That was in a later timeslot too last week, so no excuses. This may be Ten's biggest rating show but that doesn't man it won't keep dropping.
The drops in Junior Masterchef and Wild Boys would be starting to concern Ten and Seven. You would have thought Wild Boys might have had a boost after so many viewers were tuned into 7 for Bathurst all day. Not enough promos or the right sort of promos?
Castle repeats smashed Ringer.
Ten would not have scheduled a show like Ringer and expected it to win in total people. The target would have definitely been 16-39, which it won.
I thought Ten were less interested in the younger demographics this year and were going for the slightly older demographics now. That was part of the reason for ousting Neighbours and The Simpsons to Eleven and introducing such "successful" programming as Negus at 6.30pm and 90 mnute news.
Ringer won 18-49 and 16-39 doing a good job. Number 3 scripted show for night in these demos ahead of Bones, Castle repeats and POI.
Wild Boys beaten by Ringer in both groups as well. Very poor result for a prime time Australian drama with masses of promotion on 7 to be beaten by a 9.30 show on 10 from the CW.
I don't know why Seven rushed to renew Wild Boys... it is a flop. Another thing that surprised me was how they just ordered it without piloting it. Surely if you would have seen that first episode you wouldn't have ordered it to series. Massive loss to Seven News in Sydney last night, concerning given Bathurst was leading to it and did best the Rugby in that market. Bones and Castle repeats must go and replaced with original programming.
Ringer pulled disastrous total viewer numbers but managed to win in key demos due to older skewing and repeat competition. Junior Masterchef is tanking. Terra Nova did well in its second week, especially given its against Razor.
Nine's Sunday night line up isn't really worth commenting on because its just plain boring. 60 Minutes reliable as always. Razor's probably and hopefully the last Underbelly they do. And Person of Interest has failed.
Bathurst 1000 did very well for Seven. The race was well up on last year (October 10):
7 Total People Network 7 SEVEN'S V8 SUPERCARS ROUND 10: BATHURST D3 THE RACE 1,038,000 335,000 224,000 277,000 119,000 83,000
It was popular among the petrolheads too, taking #3, #4 and #5 in the 16-39 demographic. There was a big drop-off to post-race presentation as people switched to Nine to see the rugby. The rugby itself did well for two hours, helping Nine News trouncing Seven News in Sydney. Next Sunday the semi-final between the Wallabies and the All Blacks will be shown in primetime in all states except WA and it should rate pretty well, but not as big as 2003 when the two teams last met. People not interested in rugby may switch to Seven and Ten so the ratings will be very interesting. Both Wild Boys and JMC pulled less than 1 million viewers, they should attract more than that. Even more embarrassing for Ten is that the second last episode of The Renovators losing to a BBC documentary hosted by Richard Hammond! F1 posted its lowest figure for a live telecast, crunched by both Bathurst 1000 and the rugby. If Ten were to regain the rights to V8 Supercars, it should ask for Bathurst 1000 to start early so it won't clash with F1 from Asia.

So they say, but a win is a win I guess.
It's only brokers who quote 16-39 for Ten theses days - as a trading range for the stock.
