Solid finale figures with strong demographics, but does one decent rating episode make up for 12 weeks of tanking?

The Renovators did really well in the end. Smashed the opposition and did well in the demos too.

Both shows shockingly low, the difference, CSI is part of Nine's longer term plan (assumably) where as CM:SB is dead and cancelled. Thats got to be a worry for Nine.

One decent win in ratings(against piss weak competition from Seven/Nine) doesn't make up for the last few months. Overall, Renovators was an expensive failure.

Is Wednesday the new Thursday? Extremely low ratings.
I'm surprised The Renovators picked up that many casual viewers to finish on that figure (especially for a 2hr finale).

Big Bang seems to work better at 7pm when there are more repeats following at 7.30pm. Which makes no sense at all.

Great result for The Renovators Final and probably exceeding most people's expectations. It's tough when a network strips a show and it doesn't work, so good on Ten for sticking with it. It will be interesting to see what happens with Celebrity Apprentice on Nine. Will it be another Block and surprise everyone with great ratings? Or will it bomb big time...and we'll see the same thing happening to Nine that just happened to Ten? The Apprentice format has never worked in Australia, so I'll be surprised if it works this time.

Seven's early evening helps boost their terrible post 7.30 figures. Nine's Wednesday in big trouble with ACA back down to the 800,000s and CSI and Prime Suspect dropping even more.

Here are the demos for last night:

INDIVIDUAL COMMERCIAL CHANNEL SHARES 6PM-10.30PM
Channel / 18-49 / 16-39 / 25-54 / 55+ / Total People
Ten – 31.6% / 32.7% / 30.9% / 18.7% / 26.1%
Nine – 18.7% / 15.4% / 20.3% / 27.7% / 22.5%
Seven – 22.3% / 21.2% / 23.5% / 30.1% / 25.5%
Eleven – 8.7% / 10.8% / 6.8% / 1.6% / 6.1%
Go! – 5.1% / 6.5% / 4.9% / 2.1% / 4.1%
7Mate – 6.6% / 7.1% / 6.0% / 1.7% / 4.6%
One – 3.1% / 3.0% / 2.9% / 2.2% / 2.5%
Gem – 2.6% / 2.3% / 2.4% / 3.4% / 2.9%
7Two – 1.3% / 1.1% / 2.1% / 12.6% / 5.6%

NETWORK COMBINED COMMERCIAL CHANNEL SHARES 6pm-10.30pm
Network / 18-49 / 16-39 / 25-54 / 55+ / Total People
Ten/Eleven/One – 43.4% / 46.4% / 40.6% / 22.4% / 34.7%
Nine/Go!/Gem – 26.4% / 24.2% / 27.6% / 33.2% / 29.6%
Seven/7Two/7Mate – 30.2% / 29.4% / 31.7% / 44.4% / 35.7%

I hope TEN don't see those final figures for the Renovators and consider bringing it back next season. It has been a disaster for them, the return of Australian Idol or So You Think You Can Dance Australia would deliver better figures over their seasons than Renovators did. Hawaii Five-0 should be moved to Eleven or 10.30pm on TEN - its a flop.

People are starting to switch off their tv's as the weather warms and daylight savings sets in in some states. This always happens towards the end of the year. Surely Seven must be nearing the end of LOLA & CM:SB, one only had 13 episodes didn't it and the other about 18. The One is a flop. What are Seven doing with Minute to Win It? Where has it gone? And now or Feb would be the ideal time to bring back Deal or No Deal:Primetime to help boost the 5.30 edition ratings.

America's Prime Suspect and CSI are flopping. Nine will lose new CSI's in the future as I predict CBS will axe 2 of that franchises shows soon with the original to only have 1 more season left after this.

I didn't see that coming!

Renovators the top show of the night - and barely scraping over 1.2m?

I had to check twice because they looked like a typical Thursday night ratings.

And I agree that the show was an expensive failure and should NOT be returned next year.

However - given some of the bizarre decisions being made by Murdoch and co. - I'd expect it to return and probably have an increased budget too.

That's what happens when you set the bar sooo low, as The Renovators has done all season. It's not tough, it's idiotic to rest your entire schedule on one show, and then sticking with a certified flop because there is no contingency.

Nevertheless, it was a good night for Ten with thumping demo wins and a very rare primary channel win. One cost them the night however.

Finally, a decent total for The Renovators finale. Ten actually won in primary channels (albeit by 0.1%). Good performance by Eleven too.
Most other shows on Seven and Nine and ABC took a hit against The Renovators.

The Renovators finally came good. It obviously flopped as a stripped show across the week. If Ten bring it back, they will need to really tweak it and I think it should probably only run on a couple of nights and a Friday special, like The Biggest Loser does now.

The huge lead-in still didn't help Hawaii Five-O but at least it beat the other flops Prime Suspect and Law & Order: LA.

The Renovators with Gruen and Hamster really smashed Criminal Minds:Suspect Behaviour and CSI.

The One's performance is still rather underwhelming. Ten may give them a free kick next week with their erratic programming. Ten should have kept double Modern Family repeats on Wednesdays and they would have kept winning.

Great ratings for Eleven last night. Top rating multi channel. Its animation fixation block is good solid programming.

Hamster Wheel rating pretty well for its timeslot. I laughed hard last night. It was a good ep.

Disappointing Ten News Figures. No signs of recovery there.

Deal or No Deal is flopping badly.

It seems summer viewing already creeping into the figures.

If Unforgettable does badly tonight CSI needs to move to Thursday, where it should have been all along, and stay there into 2012. A movie would probably do about the same on Wed and would give good late night shares.
