That would be a concern for Nine. A major concern. Personally the show did nothing for me so not surprised.dead on arrival - under 900,000.

This show actually has potential to be quite good if it's a one hour once a week offering, with an elimination at the end of each episode. But as usualy Channel 9 are ruining everything by putting it on 5 nights a week for over an hour some nights.

That's actually way higher than I was expecting. I beat TBL which is a positive sign.dead on arrival - under 900,000.

Biggest Loser won in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Sydney and Melbourne is where the show beat Biggest Loser, which I'm not at all surprised about considering the massive promotion this show has had during the high rating cricket. I think it will drop quickly and Biggest Loser will be winning again by this time next week.

If Excess Baggage fails an excess of Reality programming on telly, I think Nine may be in for a repeat of last year when they pinned all their hopes on an excess of Comedy.
Aggreed. The success of seven and the former success of nine was because they had a diverse schedule and didnt put all eggs in one basket.
I think nine would be at panic stations this morning. It definately would have fallen of their expectations.

Damn - that would have actually been worth watching. car crash telly!!! Now how did 9 sneak into their houses and get said items to "surprise" the celebs. Not that 9 would stoop to setting things up, would they?
Can someone explain what the attraction is of watching fatties bluuber and sweat during my dinner time? Is it just an old-fashioned freak show?
Anyway it should finally signal the end of "celeb" reality which i thought had finished with Celeb Circus and Celeb Ice Skating. good old 9 - they sure know how to flog a dead horse.

A lot of people who work on MKR also work on Masterchef. TV has turned into a world of short term contracts with people just moving from show to show throughout the year. No wonder they all look the same.

To be fair about Excess Baggage, it isn't Kate Ceberano's fault it stinks to high heaven; neither is it the "celebs" fault. It's just not an exciting format and these personal stories things aren't that interesting any more. There's too much voyeurism and I'm personally not that interested in either the celebs or the Joe Public's stories about how their weight ran away from them. There's also the aspect of trying to work out why they have to be in those exotic locations... is it because they got money from Tourism WA or something?
